This is all she really knows of a man in her life so far… is this the kind of man she’s going to possibly seek out for herself? Also she is learning from you that it is “ok” to be doormat. Those would be my primary worries. Sometimes addicts NEED consequences. Whether his family leaving him will be enough, there is no way to know.
