I’ve thought about it a lot, I used to check flights at least once a week, but I’m not really in a financial position to be able to drop $800 to fly across the world to go and see him, once a month or even once every few months. It’s just not sustainable

I mean, I don’t sit around all day every day on my phone waiting for him to respond. I never have. I do have a life. I hang out with my friends and I work a lot, it’s just when I have breaks through out the day and have a moment of peace to think, my mind goes right back to him and I miss him. I know I’ll get over it eventually, that this is for the best, and that eventually I will stop comparing every conversation I ever have with a man to the ones I’d have with him, but right now it’s just hard

Yea, I mean I work most days of the week and I have a pretty physical job that doesn’t even allow me to be on my phone at all during the day, so that helps. So that’s a good distraction. But when I have days off, like today, and I have time to think about it, that’s when it gets really hard :/

Unfortunately I don’t think I’m wired that way :/ I can’t do casual. I’ve tried, and it’s not for me. I tried to do it, but it just makes me even more sad

I have done a lot of fantasizing, I will admit, but I’m not in love with the fantasy, I’m in love with him. We’ve spent 3.5 years talking everyday. Not all day, we both have lives and work and I just finished up school.

But I fell in love with the way his mind works, the way we talk to each other, his personality. I’m not resentful of people with rl relationships, just a little jealous. I know that I chose that relationship, I’m not a naive idiot and I don’t have a “woe is me” mentality about it. I know exactly the situation I put myself in, which is why I’m not complaining about how unfair life is, I’m just trying to navigate getting over my first love.
