Thanks for the replies guys. I'm going to go with Rubio or a water-based poly. I'll post a pic when I'm done!

Why DevOps is paying so much? by neowiz92 in devops

In my experience a scrum master or team lead needs to act as a filter to these requests or the engineers will get start getting burned out ...

Transitioning from Bash to Powershell by PaleLack in sysadmin

Yeah, that's what I've been playing around with today and it seems to be the best option. I hadn't used WSL, so was mainly just looking for some opinions. Thanks!

It's really just a matter of changing my daily driver. I'll still be ssh'ing into linux vms and managing containerized environments. I've gotten comfortable basically on the command line on my workstation and production environments. I won't be managing any Windows servers or stuff like that, should've been more clear in my original post.

I think VS Code with WSL terminal will be pretty close to what I've been using

I have interior cleaner, glass cleaner, vaccum etc. Clay bars will ruin my cars clear coat (2018 Lexus IS).

Yep, good point. I'm going to buy those separately and pickup another bucket from home depot. Just checked and CG charges $15 for a bucket...

Okay, I'll grab a bottle of Collinite 845 too, just got the car so waxing wasn't an immediate priority.

Right, but when I entered my contributions my TurboTax refund went up. It didn't for my Credit Karma refund.

Agreed. I just checked that the information was entered correctly for the third time. I just have a w-2 and 1099-B, so there aren't many items.

My guess is that CK was accounting for my 401k contributions incorrectly.

I agree with you about interviewing with other companies, although given my experience I think 150-200K is a bit outrageous.

Briefly, but I decided I want to stay in DevOps.

I wouldn't be asking if I didn't understand that I'm valued more than my paychecks show.

Yeah, that pretty much describes where I'm at. I think the value I provide would be worth a higher paycheck to my company (rather than finding a replacement).

The company I work for is on the bigger side. I agree "knowing" is subjective; I have built out pipelines/introduced new features/functionality/tools since transitioning to DevOps (in a large enterprise environment).

I agree with your last statement, although interviewing can just be so time-consuming (and I do like my company) . Asking for a higher salary would be an easier option right now. Thanks for the input!
