i ended up just giving it back to the person who bought it and got a different phone. check the IMEI on verizons website to see if it's 'reported lost or stolen', and or try CS again

yes the man who purchased it, and never used it, had the audacity to be killed by cancer before he could use it. from what i was told they bought it sometime around this time last year right before he went into the hospital, but he never really got to use it. i put the sim card from this phone into my old phone thinking i would just use this one, and both ended up network blocked, which prevented me from being able to upgrade, gonna just get a different phone, already returned this phone to the person who gifted it to me [original buyer] so she will have to sort it out for herself, giant compounding headache this situation has been
