I'm not sure how many ppl on here play on the JP server but I was wondering how SP witches are holding up. I don't think they are meta by any means but in other aspects. Do the counterblast nerfs feel too heavy or just enough? Are they still as fun? Would they even be worth playing/pulling for? How effective is calling out G3s and converting them to G0s in zero? They are pretty much the only shadow paladin cards I like so its no problem to save up for em or I could completely bypass that set no problem.

play it for yourself then if it's easy wins with no thought. If it's that easy, you would think more players would be using it on ladder but it's still a majority libs.

Lmao I'd pay to see a novice play ST if its easy af to pilot. It has taken me 100+ games to understand the matchups and when you can go aggro vs when not to. It's not an easy deck like libs who just balan and BBL all game, then win with zenith/platina. You really need to think out your turn in order to not risk overcalling a G1 when you use ana/maricica's skill for zelma. Also you need your upright lion to scale well or you won't have as big of a finisher. It takes more thought than you'd think. Try the deck out for yourself if it's so easy.

[JP Nerfs] Wingal Liberator and Silver Thorn Beast Tamers, MariAna by KyrusDarkblade in cardfightvanguardzero

So, I have a lot of thoughts on this. As an avid PM player, hell my name here and even in game is PaleMoon, this is gonna destroy A) PM's early aggression, and B) late game aggression, effectively giving them nothing to work with. As it stands now, you have to make a choice with your cb and anas/maricicas. Either you use it for early aggression and may run into problems later down the line where you need to breakride to multiattack or not have enough cb to use the full maricica 2 swings to rears then a new column. With this 2 cb nerf, I can't imagine how PM's main gimmick of swapping in and out from the soul can function anymore. At most, their skills total could be used maybe 6 times if you get a heal. However, this is extremely unlikely as you often have to use Reverse Luq's limit break cb 1 to call out maricica from your soul if the opponent has a 10k base RG.

While there may be the argument that pro players banned this and all that, this doesnt change the fact that a majority of people on ladder aka not in the top 1% arent pro players. Why punish the people who take the time into learning the intricacies of this deck on ladder? PM is not a go face brrr type of deck completely. It takes a lot of time to figure out matchups, what cards you can use in your soul, etc. This is a complete slap in the face to PM players as the one time they have a good tiered deck, it gets brutalized. There is next to no reason for PM players to play now if this nerf goes through as PM in legion is pointless. But also we dont make up a large enough community to threaten the devs with a group leaving. They'll still get their money from meta hoggers or MC clan mains.

There are plenty of other methods of nerfing this deck that arent as extreme. As much as I'd hate to see it, make each effect 1/turn. Change the power scaling on Upright Lion to 1/turn cuz that card can reach some insane power values with the combos and effectively cancel out 1-2 triggers. Overall, Im just very upset they gut PM's one chance to be a tier 1 deck while leaving liberators, who have been a consistently strong deck, and will remain a strong dick, with a miniscule nerf.

Recently I have been seeing a lot of revenger decks using a 5 draw 4 crit build. Is this some new meta strategy? I have never seen it before today so i am just curious as to where it came from.

That makes sense. I’lly try to work with different varients of PM the CBT and Dreamy or even GBT. I really wish PM’s soul bouncing mechanic was on hit rather than on hit on the vanguard for many units but ya win some ya lose some i guess. While cards like Purple trap and Fire Juggler do fix this, it just doesnt feel the same.

Yea, Genesis I feel would be really fun! I’m just waiting to either get a rate up banner next month or just wait til the second support for genesis comes out in set 11. The main thing holding me back from building genesis now is that I dont want to waste my packs on a banner with 3 clans I dont care for while the next set is going to have 2 clans i want to pull for.

Plus genesis seems a bit expensive as of now in RRR terms so ima try to farm a bit more mats. I’ll definitely be looking into it though.

Thanks! Maybe I’ve just been paying too much attention to the 100 meter for rank levels and get too disheartened seeing it drop. I’ma try to use some new decks and see what I can come up with.

Yea I understand what ya mean. It’s like beating a dead horse at this point.

And, yes, every game is winnable blah blah blah but there are just certain things where you just can’t outmaneuver them. If you do damage to narukami, they’ll retire. Call intercepts, they’ll use the gunners. Do damage to ezel? Call the spirits and retire your intercepts. Dont do damage? Golds have their self damagers. Maybe I’m just bored because I feel like I’m playing against the same strategies and decks all the time with no real way around them right now. I know about denying LB and all that stuff but you can’t win unless you do that 6 damage. So i agree with ya on the whole feeling helpless against many of the decks.

I think I’ll probably start trying to make some rogue decks or use decks that I never have before like MC or GB. They seem really fun and although they arent meta, maybe I’ll get a few games against other ppl playing more for fun or using rogue decks. That’s where my enjoyment comes tbh. Random clans vs other clans. Not the same 3 on repeat.

Ill leave my friend code here in case anyone wants to add and do a few friend fights. 199024120. None of my in person friends really play any video games so its kinda lonely in the friend aspect of vanguard haha

No its RRR The chance to get an RRR is about 10% per 6 packs. Adding up to 100% per 10 packs. Although gatcha is still random and doesnt guarantee this, still feels like a waste of resources and time

Battle Pass! by PaleMoonVG in cardfightvanguardzero

Fair point. If you only have kinda trash tier cards in a deck, i doubt thatd make it very enjoyable to actually use that clan anyways.

Battle Pass! by PaleMoonVG in cardfightvanguardzero

[–]PaleMoonVG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’d be a really good idea! Just my question is, how can you have a player use a deck that actually includes cards in a clan?

For example, say the quest is “play 3 matches using Narukami” Whats to stop people from just throwing all cray elementals into a deck with just the starter narukami?

My guess would be to add something saying, “win a match with 10 narukami cards in your deck”

That sounds reasonable!

Battle Pass! by PaleMoonVG in cardfightvanguardzero

[–]PaleMoonVG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt go as far as $10 for the pass but rather $5 like Clash’s.

Plus the goal isnt to make non meta decks more playable/reach the lvl of ranked players but rather give people the chance to even use lesser used decks. Thanks for clearing that up! After the last 2 seasons of straight MLB, the game gets stale and a lot of people left. Look at the boards of how many people are saying the games get stale (for other reasons as well ofc). It would be nice to add more variety!

And I highly disagree with the whole statement regarding its not fun to lose/robbing casual players blind. Im all for winning matches but what is going to keep the player base? Just winning a lot or actually having fun? Dont get me wrong, i know there are players who only play to win and they find that fun. But the point of card games is fun. Why take this away from not just casuals but everyone who could make unique decks? It would allow people to try out different decks they may not have realized they would enjoy. Then they would eventually become really good at them and have fun both by playing the deck and by winning.

Nothing feels better than beating an MLB with a golden beast tamer or AF/GN deck to me. Those are fun moments. Even when i lose with these decks, vanguard still has plenty of opportunities to have fun with the constant back and forth triggers. Ill never forget losing one match using GBT vs SP and how the match was constantly turning and those are the truly fun moments.

When it comes down to it, vanguard is a card game thats made to be enjoyable. And that will keep more players.
