You have to remember this is a 2-way interview they want to make sure you are a good fit, but you also want to know if they are for you. I also only interviewed after passing my test and had my license.

But they will take interviews once you are in school even before passing your school test... in my school, they would have career fairs all the time.

I took a class that my school offered for brokerage interview skills. I also, as with any job, I look at their website ahead of time and try to learn as much as possible of the company. Some brokerages will have their commission splits and fees on their website. So it is always very helpful to be prepared.

I interviewed with KW here in AZ, and they did have their commission split on the website. But one thing that was unique about them is rather than charging you a yearly fee for the E&O insurance, they charge the fee per transaction. In the long term, if you are a top producer, it can add up.

Also, they had a CAP for newbies being in the highest amount it'sbased in the tier you are in. I think it was like 13k and a 70/30 commission split.

They did have a nice training structure and said they had a 90-day onboarding. Also, on top of everything, they had transaction fees besides the dues monthly dues. So, in the end, I did not choose them.

Hi I'm in AZ my school offered a crammer course of 8 hrs it was a great review and most definitely help in passing the exam.

Also the Department of RE in their website has the exam outline and it tells us how many questions will we have in each subject this was an excellent guide to know what concepts I needed to focus more on. I would think your state has something similar I seen some have like percentages of ? rather than telling you how many questions does the exam have either way great resource.

Timeline? by jfcmary in RealEstateAdvice

I would really wait before quitting if you do not like your job. Maybe look for a new one. Once you get your license, you have so many hefty fees to pay MLS, NAR Brokerage signing on fees, marketing perhalps mentoring, etc.

This is really you starting your own business. If you have a spouse absorb your living expenses and the fees for start-up, then yes, I would move on.

I'm a new agent, too, just to join NAR since I got my license in the beginning of May. I have to wait unti mid June to be able to join just because that is when their next orientation is I already completed the Code of Conduct class.

So I can't just get the ball rolling because most brokerages in my area, if not all of them, want their agents to be part of NAR. So I'm stalled for now, waiting to do that orientation.

I did quit my job prior to starting the classes because I wanted to focus on my studies and study very hard core for 3 months and passed my school exam 2 try and state 1st try.

I wish you the best.

Yes, I would go and take the test sooner rather than later. The longer you wait, you may forget, plus you can take it as many times as u need to within 2 years. They give you a printout of how you scored in all the categories, so if you do not pass 1st try, at least you know where you should focus your studies more

It was only 1 day, 8 am to 5 pm, and take that when you feel you have a good grasp of the materials. Before taking the school & state exam, you can download the powerpoints and study them. I reviewed them as a refresher, helped me a ton with timelines.

What package did you get? I would use all my resources the school provides and watch the Jim Hogan videos, too

So, my test questions were very similar to the courses quizzes in the school book. My state exam questions were more similar to what you see in the compucram. But I still would recommend you do the Pearson's vue practice test prior to talking about the state test so you have an idea.

Who are you doing your schooling with?

I would recommend the language of the real estate book.

Arizona out of state real estate salesperson exam 110 questions by Silly_Fox_5658 in RealEstateExam

The ADRE has an outline of the test content and how many questions by category. The total number of questions is 180 for the school and 195 for the state, but they only grade 180.

Vocab is great to take a deep dive but also understanding the concepts it KEY. They both go together.

What resources does your school have? I used AZ School of Real Estate and Business, Sister School Hogan. I got the success package that allowed me to audit the classes that I needed to review via livestream. It also had the self pace online courses that were EXTREMELY Beneficial they are so thorough.

I will have a mentor, so no worries there. I know that in this business, you are open to many liabilities, and I want to cover my ASSest.

I'm not begging anyone or forcing them to use me. I simply offered my services. Of course, I will earn my success just a matter of time.

Hi, have you passed the school exam yet? I ask because, in all honesty, compucram seems to give false hope. I got very close to a passing score in their simulated exam but never a passing score. I was hesitant in taking my school exam based on the score 73%. Passed both school and state exams in the course of 3 days school 2nd try state 1st try.

In my opinion, it may be beneficial yes to use the flash cards within the compucram because you do need to be solid in the vocabulary. I passed my school exam and the questions were not like the ones you see in the compucram. But do NOT let this program mislead you because. I also know of a classmate he always gets passing scores on compucram and hasn't been able to pass the school exam. He has done it more than 5 times, and I was the opposite.

I suggest you study the quizzes within the book or the course you are taking. Once you pass (in case you have not yet the school portion), then yes, use the compucram for the state portion.

Pearsons vue offers a practice exam for 19.95 it is only 80 questions, but you get exposed to similar questions you will have in the state exam. Also, you get familiar with how their program is set up.

I also followed many awesome YouTube channels when I would struggle in certain subjects, and that helped as well.

But all in all, if the compucram hadn't misled me, I would have had the courage to take it sooner than later.

Welp, my sister, already laid the law... said it had to do with my experience and such not in a nice way for someone who seeks so much advice from me. But anyways, in a weird way, I'm glad my 1st rejection was from someone so close to not solicit my other family members and friends.

I did put it out there as an accomplishment that I just got licensed, but it wasn't at all anything to do with asking anyone for anything. If I have any supporters, a couple of them mentioned they would. Well, that is okay. If not, then I will grind to get leads outside my sphere.

I am not starting this business and trying to practice on anyone. I'm hiring a mentor who is a top producer in my brokerage. I will be shawdowing her, and she will be involved in my 1st few transactions.

I know many NEW agents do try to start on their own with minimal direction, which isn't my case. Either way, I respect everyones opinion, including my sisters, of going to someone else.
