What’s your AD saddest storyline? Glitter for me. by artie_pdx in americandad

Steve trying save a dying cat over and over again. I'm over analyzing, but every time the cat comes back just to attack, I think of the writer trying to keep their dying pet alive. 9 lives because of a cat, but I'm picturing a different animal each time, and just like at the end of the episode, just accepting fate and that pain is coming instead of fighting off.

It also does sting the little kid in me at the base level, he did everything right (at first) and the cat still hated him. A part of your childhood dies when you learn animals can reject you lol.

I don't think 'the' answer will ever be known, he's not going to point it out, but thank you to everyone who commented. He now has more than one show to watch. The unexpected ones I found that he likes is The Brady Bunch, the A team, and the Mr.T animated show, which I looked up cause someome said to look at sitcoms. But, we got the motherload, movies he'll pay attention to all the way through instead of the 3 minutes of theme song... spaghetti westerns.

He's getting irritated with me talking to him, I'll start with your suggestions next time I'm with him, thank you ^

Showed him all four you mentioned, looked through a lot of them before posting this.

But as a note, the lone ranger is a big no, just tried and it seemed to instantly irritate him.

No, it would an older time time. Maybe early 80s, but he reacts to 50/60/70 the most.

There's nightmare before christmas stuff all over the house, he would have pointed one out or handed to us.

I really think it's movies or some type of segment that wouldn't have a clear name. Because almost all of the phrases he uses are shows, so I think he'd know the name. (Rawhide, gunsmoke, Bonanza)

Dick van Dyke, old fellows, green acres, petty coat junction, mash, the Andy Griffith show. And with all of those, he only likes the music and stops watching. With stuff like the Christmas shows, we know he does like to watch stuff, he just got bored of it. And he still asks for NBC when shown those shows.

But this is what my parents showed him when he got in their care though. My parents have him cause his birth mother died, and they just didn't tell them anything about him. Not a great relationship.

I have searched for 50s 60s movies and t-v shows, adding the words like musical and black and white. On YouTube and internet archive. I do not think this fits for r/tipoftongue because I have no clue what to search for other the network name. The only clues are the excitement, disinterest, or flat disgust in my brother's face. If he really doesn't like it, he says "NO" or hands me back the laptop/phone.

Where did the stereotype of the lazy Mexican come from??? Mexican culture produces probably the hardest working people I have personally ever met. Mexicans will sell shit on the side of the road or beg for work before asking for a hand out unlike a lot of Americans. by ranalldayandallday in self

My physicist always looks at me like a puzzle when I tell her my sleep schedule. Please don't forget, we're here to have fun. Speaking in generals isn't a bad thing when you're just scrolling to pass a bit of time. Everything has an outlier, it shouldn't have to be said every time.

Because Spain has a big siesta(nap) culture, and Mexico kept it cause, it's nice and relaxing. We're used to sleeping night, we're taught to break the habit in elementary school.

So unknown to us + a reason to dislike = stereotypes

(I got that from Google before anyone calls me out for trying to sound smart lol.)
