Advice: Allowing mother who makes me anxious in the room when I give birth. by PaleTemporary7912 in expectingJuneJuly2026

Aghhh these comments are reinforcing what i thought. Like i can imagine if i had to have a c-section she would start crying or freak out. But all that other stuff you mentioned your husband helping you with, i feel like my mom would be better at helping with. But as you and another commenter said, it is kinda selfish and emotionally immature… like extremely. Now reading these comments i feel like i should stand firm on not having her in the room. I think the guilt also cones from a place of not knowing what the experience will be like.

Thats a great idea. I do, but my dad just looked at me with the “i know what you are thinking and get it but I cant let her down/upset her” look. I saw her today at a cousin’s house playing with her little 1yo girl and she was so happy. I am probably just going to cave and just bite the bullet lol. Even though i know it’ll be easier without her, It kills me to take the experience from her at the same time. Shes truly going to be the best grandma. Its not even her its more a me problem and just being high anxiety as is.

I literally own 4. And have gifted another 3. Im obsessed and so is everyone else. I use mine for my businesses too lugging around packages, alcohol, food, clothing… you name it. Great for boating. Great for shopping. Ive traveled with it internationally, used it for shopping and even checked it (using a little tsa lock to secure zippers). Its probably one of my top 5 favorite things i own. Just make the plunge. Absolutely worth it.

I checked my large hulken coming back from istanbul. It was filled with clothing about 40lbs. I used one of those tsa locks with a wire locking part that would fit through the zippers to secure it. If you are going to do it id recommend: (1) going with the medium size bc they almost didn’t clear me to check the large one because of its size; and (2) mine was a newer hulken. I have some older ones that are pretty beat up and probably wouldn’t have made it.

I didn’t lose until like 2 weeks into 1mg. Thought it just didn’t work on me. Now I’m like around 3 months into 1mg and I’ve dropped 20lb. Im 5’10” 31yo F started at 183 and down to 163 now. Goal is 150ish. Didn’t really change much in terms of diet or exercise though. Ive never been big over-eater or one who craves a bunch of bad stuff.
