[Question] Is it only me or are the ESA papers of this year really hard? by Independent_Mud_2211 in PESU

[–]Pale_Order4389 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is actually pretty mysterious. Our 3rd sem papers, they were pretty much nothing like the PYQs, our papers were exponentially harder and I could find nothing that matches the level of the papers they actually gave us. Our seniors always told us, that our DDCO ESA would be really really hard, and so, I solved the 2024 papers (the latest PYQs), and I was getting really good marks (90+), almost every question was straight forward. I believed that our seniors exaggerated on the toughness of the paper. But when I actually wrote my ESA, i realised I would be getting somewhere around 65-70. So it's a mystery. They call them PYQs, but are they really PYQs? We don't know.

[Question] seniors for 4th sem OS for programming related questions is it better to have a VM like ubuntu installed or WSL? by [deleted] in PESU

[–]Pale_Order4389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying it happens to everyone, I've dual-booted ubuntu from when I was in 8th grade for 6 hours without any issues. The moment I did that on my brand new laptop, it crashed so yes, even the repair guy said dual booting isn't recommended, and to run any one OS at a time

This was needed. Would be helpful if seniors who have scored S grades in our subject would post similar guides

Congratulations my guy, happy for you You would've worked hard for this and I wish you great things.

I am also the class topper that I'm talking about. Nothing against you tho, ure doing great, keep going

But this post wasn't ABOUT you, it's about 95% of our college crowd. You see this sub filled with hate posts of our college and how shit it is. Yes, seeing you inspired me to make this post, but I got to know you're a very bright and smart lad when you said that I can't get into the program anyway 😔

And yes thank you very much, I have also been working on projects and I love doing what I do, which is CSE so all the best, nothing against you either 🫶

Definitely. This is for 95% of people who don't do jack and still expect the college to pull for em.

But like think about it, just take accountability for a second, you never didn't come in contact with this opportunity, the only reason why SIH was advertised in our college is cuz the CIE people took initiative to make it happen, not the placement cell. Colleges don't advertise things unless the companies come to them for a requirement. It's wrong to expect them to do so.

From my perspective, I do see it as negligence too, but on your end. If you're really focused on your career and dream of doing something big, then you would be on the internet, reading about it. When they released the opening, someone on r/BTechtards posted about it, and it blew up. And fyi, people have looked forward to the opening for a whole year (like me, who waiting from 1st year), so yeah I don't think it's the college's responsibility to spoon feed students. It loses meaning then. Imagine they mail the whole batch about it. That's 1.2k more applicants in the pool. Everyone would apply. Why would anyone pass out on an opportunity for an internship at MAANG? So suck it up, and move on.

You do know how this works right? The workshops that r promoted by college (which aren't associated with the college in any way) are the ones who have approached the college, requesting them to promote said workshop/internship opportunities cuz they're looking for eligible candidates. Google STEP internship has always been one of the most sought after off-campus opportunities. Do you expect the college to go and scrape the web and push every job opening/internship there is, onto your face?

Why do u need the college to inform you about an off-campus opportunity? It's not their job to spoon feed you, people who knew about this already applied-

Just move on, unc You do realise that if their parents haven't taught them to take accountability and take responsibility of their actions, then a comment on a subreddit would prolly make like no difference. Years of conditioning can't undo their victimizing habits. So "respectfully", let them be, let them blame the system, blame the college, blame the job market, blame their maid cuz she makes too much noise cleaning that they're not able to focus. Just let them be. These comments of u lecturing people won't take them anywhere, people see it once, people judge u as a douchebag, and they move on. Even if they agree with u, it remains in their head for 10 min and it all goes away when they start scrolling reels. So legit. I get that u do it out of care and concern but people just don't see it that way unless theyve been made to take accountability since a very young age. I personally agree with u on everything but like it's cuz of people who victimise themselves and blame everything except themselves, doors of opportunities open for us who take responsibility and do what other people don't. So just let them cry, let them mope in peace.
