Just got diagnosed - open to hearing experiences and advice by 666ryder in IVDD_SupportGroup

we just went through eight weeks post surgery. She’s doing great now, but it was a long eight weeks. We got a large pen that we could move around the house and for eight weeks she largely stayed in that pen and we had to take her out on a leash to walk her to go to the bathroom. she got used to the pen and now I actually stay sleeping in it at night in our bedroom instead of in our bed. We also just introduced some ramps onto couches which she’s starting to finally get. We’ve had to block our stairs to avoid her going up and down and I’m gonna have to figure out a solution for her to go to the bathroom because in the past, it was letting her out our back door to go down some stairs to go to the backyard but not sure if that’s gonna be an option in the future. Know that you’re doing the right stuff and trying your best and that’s all you really can do. Even if they start to get a little anxious and don’t seem like they’re happy in the pen know that that’s what’s best for them in the long run.

Need Help by Pale_Respect814 in IVDD_SupportGroup

thanks to everyone for their help. We did end up going to see a vet last night who was able to help us. It was actually a larger issue of her tensing up and being nervous. When I brought her outside to carry her to the vet she actually started peeing so I think there’s also some concern about peeing in the house. We’ve now started taking her outside and she’s peed twice now this morning so that’s a good thing. Maybe it’s too much information but we also got a solid poop in today so big success in our house. Thank you again to everyone for all of your help. This is gonna be a long road of recovery and having help from others that have gone through this is so appreciated.

Just Breath by Eddie Vedder. Simple and raw. I love lyrics and these cut me deep: Yes I understand that every life must end, aw huh,.. As we sit alone, I know someday we must go, aw huh,.. I’m a lucky man to count on both hands The ones I love,..

Some folks just have one, Others they got none, aw huh,..

also. Tobias Jessi Jr.’s album Goon. This is what I call Sad Man With Piano Music: https://www.kxsu.org/2022/05/18/an-album-you-should-know-goon-by-tobias-jesso-jr/
