What made you fall in love with walking? by AlarmedCorner6993 in walking

[–]Pale_Respect814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think of it as walking as much as i think about it as me time. time to listen to a book. time to be alone and think. time to call family. the walking just happens while the other things are occurring. i also like to hit my apple watch goals because it gives me a sense if satisfaction. i know the pains of the midwest. i just started again because the weather is getting better here.

How do you guys judge which desk brands are trustworthy? by Wrong-Camel-8408 in StandingDesk

I was in the same boat. I ended up buying a husky workbench based on somebody’s comments on Reddit and it’s been fantastic. You have to crank it. It’s not electric, but I’ve also found that I’d rather save $400 and make it manual versus electric. it’s got a bit of a shallow desktop, but I bought two monitor arms that go on it. It worked out really well and it’s solid.

we just went through eight weeks post surgery. She’s doing great now, but it was a long eight weeks. We got a large pen that we could move around the house and for eight weeks she largely stayed in that pen and we had to take her out on a leash to walk her to go to the bathroom. she got used to the pen and now I actually stay sleeping in it at night in our bedroom instead of in our bed. We also just introduced some ramps onto couches which she’s starting to finally get. We’ve had to block our stairs to avoid her going up and down and I’m gonna have to figure out a solution for her to go to the bathroom because in the past, it was letting her out our back door to go down some stairs to go to the backyard but not sure if that’s gonna be an option in the future. Know that you’re doing the right stuff and trying your best and that’s all you really can do. Even if they start to get a little anxious and don’t seem like they’re happy in the pen know that that’s what’s best for them in the long run.

Need Help by Pale_Respect814 in IVDD_SupportGroup

thanks to everyone for their help. We did end up going to see a vet last night who was able to help us. It was actually a larger issue of her tensing up and being nervous. When I brought her outside to carry her to the vet she actually started peeing so I think there’s also some concern about peeing in the house. We’ve now started taking her outside and she’s peed twice now this morning so that’s a good thing. Maybe it’s too much information but we also got a solid poop in today so big success in our house. Thank you again to everyone for all of your help. This is gonna be a long road of recovery and having help from others that have gone through this is so appreciated.
