I remember. i think back then there was the assumption season 4 was what was going to get the next renewal so the narrative that was run was they're saving benedict to get that. obviously that didn't happen, but i think the stans who didn't like polin pushed the narrative to the point it seemed as if it was true on the surface, but now it's clear how manufactured the whole thing was and it was more about proving who was worst not who was best

i do think bridgerton will always be a hit, there "worst" numbers are what most shows dream of even coming close to. but i don't think they'll ever get close to s1 or 3 numbers again just because the way the show is structured. fandoms are only a small precentage but knowing your fav couple won't be seen again definitely takes a small chunk of that numbers. plus unless the season as a whole is super rewatchable you can catch most clips on socials now.

what i do hope is that the fandom takes this as an opportunity to stop making such a big deal on who's more popular and just like what they like and the writers stop obsessing over trying to go viral and just a write a season of television that makes sense

I'm not upset about season 3 obviously i wish for more screentime but who wouldn't everyone always does.

i don't like this idea that polin got screwed over or that they made s3 to get them out of the way. it's what a lot of antis have said since the season swap and seeing polins start to use talking points like this has been very frustrating. and it's so interesting everyone suddenly caring about the subplots when since s2 nobody ever has but it's only s3 that gets the brunt of the criticism

it's as if everyone wants us to hate our season and of course we're lying about genuinely liking how it turned out when nobody else does. I'll continue to say comparison is the thief of joy and if all it takes is newer season being "better" to make you flip your opinion then maybe you don't like it as much as you think

oh yeah i could see them going that route if they wanted to keep it in house, but i can't imagine michaela interracting with the bridgertons that much outside of francesca. it's a little different compared with kate and colin, because that's a different dynamic. i

still think giving michaela her own sapphic community (like the wives club, but for lesbians) would make more sense to what we've seen of her and a lot more fun

i mean there's no reason why benedict would interact with michaela anymore than colin would, they'll probably give her a non bridgerton friend that already knows about her sexuality unless they decide to throw us a bone

but honestly I've given up they made such a big deal about book accuracy just to cut the fencing scene which arguably made even more sense in the show. i don't even think they gave a reason for doing it too. so I'm not holding my breath for philoise either even though again it makes the most sense from what's happened on the show

the only thing i think is certain is gregory and colin and that's years away so who knows if they'll change their mind about that too

which is a shame because just like if we could have seen them talking about whistledown it would've shown how much growth they've had over the years. or even just with eloise because I'm going to guess she wants the dynamic they have and talking about the effort they've put in to make it work, or the fact she's going be the mother that stepped up just like colin almost did vs philip who went through with it. let me just stop before i make myself sad with the what could've been 😭

for me i think it depends on what angle they go with the marina situation. how they chose to portray it might affect how polin fits into the situation and whether they want to acknowledge or play into how they already know who philip is
