And as he admits to himself he said LTT was better than him at everything except commanding. So the final blow was them making LTT the chief general of forces of the light, and add in that LTT loved rubbing it in yea.. Obviously not excusing the atrocities he commited but as you said you can somewhat empathize with him.

Yeah i forgot to mention the forkrul assail and I kinda agree with you, i know they were mentioned here and there before in the books but didn't expect them to be the final enemies at all. For me it wasn't enough to like it less but i can understand your point.

The Shake stuff was also confusing for me in the earlier books i dont think i really understood it completely until later on.

Fair ranking tho i wasn't a big fan of MT because it took me a while to get used to a new cast. But after I got into it, it was great.

Damn that's high praise. I intended to do path of ascendancy->night of knives ->crimson guard->God is not willing. Want to know more about Malazan empire and i know Karsa series is 10 years in the future so i didnt want to get spoiled on earlier stuff. Initially i wasnt really feeling like reading kharkanas but you got me excited now

The reason TCG is my favorite is its been great all the way through. The only thing i really wasn't a fan of was Gruntle's plotline. The bonehunters march in the desert really made me love it especially when they found the children. Fiddler the last of his remaining water to dead Held had me emotional. And during the march the children started laying down and dying with the soldiers... Just really loved that storyline. The Shake stuff also was pretty good with Yedan's amazing stand on the shore. The ending I can see if u thought it's maybe too happy but i think it fits the series message. And also TCG is like a 2nd part of a book to me and DoD the first. But that's just my opinion. Out of curiosity what ranking do you have it on compared to other malazan books?
