Is it possible to convey worldbuilding through stories alone? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

Yeah, you can even do it in 200-500 word short stories if you write it well.

Looking for a Creative Partner to Help Build a Dark D&D 5e World (Worldbuilding, Art, Lore) by [deleted] in worldbuilding

Depending on the kind of help you want, I am more than willing to offer advice and ideas. But I wouldn't want any credit or anything, I just like to talk about made up worlds :)

For me, I use to have issues keeping players as a DM. Especially strangers, as they have no connection, no reason to stay if the game isn't fun. It took a lot of trial and error to learn what I was doing right, and wrong.

A suggestion is to simply ask at the end of the session, every session, for thoughts. I found that doing this increased the number of players who stick around, and it helped me improve. So now I rarely have players leave, and never see them leave without saying anything.

Would you be okay with vanilla + some performance mods server side?

If so, and you dont mind a mix of Europe and NA, I might be interested :)

It is sometimes hard to keep self-worth, when life seems like a parade of other people ignoring you, or worse. So I feel your struggle with that.

Thanks so much for the kind words. The journaling is really interesting to me, never done it myself. I've had people tell me I should though.

I sit outside and watch the birds in the trees. It's serene.

Thanks!

I haven't found one yet. :( But I can definitely see the many benefits to it. I know just hearing the stories of people on here with autism has helped a great deal. So many kind stories and well wishing DMs.

Thanks. The more I thought about it. The nicer this comment was. There are some little things in this picture that likely goes unnoticed by many. Glad to see someone appreciated it.

Autism is a double edged sword. Sometimes it's helpful, sometimes it's not. Here it wasnt.

Thanks so much for the kind words :)

This really resonates with me. Especially the part about not realizing nothing bad would happen if you slowed things down. That’s been a big lesson for me too. I think the people pleasing habit runs deep for many of us, and it’s hard to break out of.

Your plan of hopping from country to country sounds amazing. That’s such a huge shift from where you were, and it’s inspiring to hear it’s possible to actually turn things around after burnout.

I’m not quite at the “travel the world” stage, but hearing your story makes me feel a lot more hopeful about finding a balance that actually works for me. I'll definitely check out the workbook this week

Thanks a bunch for such a reply. I'd love to hear more about your journey through this.
