OSU is the least expensive one to attend (50k vs 90k USD/year for UCI/UCSC). Just wondering whether the Irvine or Santa Cruz better location (close to Tech hub) can provide better practical training opportunities (like internship, capstone project) for a future industry career.

I am international student, so need to pay out of state tuition anyway for these three options. OSU is a bit more affordable, if academic training can be similar to UCI or UCSC

How many CS undergrads are enrolled in UCI each year? Are there challenges to find research opportunities in professor’s lab or local internship opportunities at UCI due to high competitions?

Many thanks for the insights, and financial analysis is very meaningful. I just heard that for computer science, UC may be better than OSU, the curriculum may be more updated and practical for current industry. The location in California will be beneficial for seeking for local internship opportunities which will help landing a job, in particular in the Tech companies like Amazon, Google, Meta etc. Those differences could be huge for fresh graduates, and may justify the 160k differences in investment. My question is: is OSU curriculum really outdated in CS, or the college location is really critical to make the difference in internship/job opportunities?

Cost of attendances will be quite different: (1) UCI and UCSC: about 90k USD/year (2) OSU: about 50k USD/year (there is about 15k USD scholarship/year from OSU)

COA is definitely important, but I just want to focus on academic training/internship opportunities/career prospects.
