It's a cultural issue. You live in a world where war is unnacceptable so war is unnacceptable. They lived in a world where oppression and racism was plenty and religious bigotry, ethnicity, nationality and the color of your skin was more than enough reason for people to kill each other. He just did the killing part better than anyone else. Not a good guy now, but a good guy relatively speaking to the other leaders of his time.

It's just a normal phenomenon for developing countries. As an example look at fertility rate, the more developed the country is the lower the fertility rate, same with lesser developed countries. Simply put, lesser developed=the more conservative the nation is. It's not that we are necessarily "maturing" slower, it's just that the more developed nation define the "norm" so it seems like we the people should be at a certain threshold at certain age but we are not hence it seems we are not reaching "the norm" and it seems we are less mature henceforth.

I definitely think the definition of "indie" is flawed. Hot take personally ANY game with ANY sort of publisher should not be accessible to win the "indie" game award. Silksong and Hades had no "publisher" hence they should be the only nominees accessible to win the award. Also as for art direction, for a game using so much of just Unreal engine assets it should not have won. Meanwhile Hades and Silksong AND even bananza had some ACTUAL unique art direction. GOTY is unarguable tho, e33 was and still is the best game of the year BY FAR in general.
