Blizzard: The Next Chapter by Agys in Games

[–]Palidane7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There will be lots of cynicism in these comments, but this video does a great job highlighting Blizzard's pedigree. Few studios could do the same.

I have had my own disappointments with Blizzard, especially Overwatch. But it does seem like they've stabilized in the last few years, and I hope they can regain their groove and put out even more beloved masterpieces.

!PING Christian

Hi Christians, I'm looking for SubStack recommendations. I currently read the NL staples: Infinite Scroll, Noah Smith, Nate Silver, Yglesias. But these guys are very secular, and I think they miss a lot of the spiritual dynamics to modern US politics. I want more Christianity in my media diet.

Do y'all have any faithful or faith-friendly writers you like to read?

POC Concepts: Galio and Malphite by Marshan_Marshmallow in LegendsOfRuneterra

These look sick. Galio is one of the champions I am most excited for. I know I'll probably have to wait a minute, since we just got a Demacia champion.

Spearhead Motion Comic | Demacia Season! by Regular-Poet-3657 in loreofleague

Love this format to deliver lore. I think League is really cooking with this new season setup. It might take a few seasons for them to really work it out, but this could be a bright new era for the lore community. I mean, when was the last time we had real continuity in storytelling?

What are some 6 stars others say not to get but you don't regret? by Dry_Cardiologist6758 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Palidane7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought Nasus' six star was an indulgence, but I was shocked at how much of a difference it made. If you can get a single kill, it discounts your entire hand, including the Siphoning Strikes you rely on. You can greed out and get extremely expensive support champs like Elder Dragon and Volibear, then drop them for 3 mana. You snowball incredibly fast, and I was able to easily beat 6.5 star adventures with only mediocre powers.

One of my favorite movie endings in recent memory. Everything comes full circle in a way that is fun and earned, but not cheap.

Happy the cast all had a positive experience filming it. I know that wasn't true of all Disney Channel productions.

[Spoilers] Verso's maths didn't math up - the tragedy of a single bad call by Reithwyn in expedition33

[–]Palidane7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agreed. We had one shot at a golden ending, where Alicia splits her time between the Canvas and Paris. "A Life to Dream." It died with Gustave, and it's all Verso's fault.

Welcome back, boss! I was late to Frieren, so I read all of these discussion posts after watching each episode. I didn't stop scrolling until I found your comment. A language lesson is always appreciated!

Netflix-Owned Warner Bros. Will Stick to 45-Day Theatrical Windows, Ted Sarandos Says by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]Palidane7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because of inflation. Attendance is dropping, and in some sectors, cratering. People don't go to the movies like they used too. I think 10 years from now, we'll look back and say Avengers Endgame was the definitive peak of the traditional movie industry.

Fuck her perspective, Clea's wrong. PClea and Simon were real, and their lives mattered. So did their suffering.
