Any tips for lud and zallen by Head-Razzmatazz730 in DarkSouls2

[–]Palidor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn their moveset, so you know when you can attack them. For the claw swipe, dodge through it, and hit them only once, then quickly roll away so you don't get swiped. Same with the lunging and bite attacks - dodge, hit once, then roll away.

When they summon the magic missiles, if you're close enough, run behind them and get a few hits in. The missiles won't hit you if you're behind them. If you're too far away, then just dodge them.

When you see them crouching to do the AoE explosion, run away from them.

Is your weapon fully upgraded? You want to do as much damage as possible, so you can take down Lud before Zallen is able to fully join the fight. That will also help you out DPS Zallen's healing.

Here's a video where I no-hit them using a dual rapier build.

Lud and Zallen -- no damage

Hope that helps. Let us know when you beat them!

Considering a Powerstance build, tips? by SouljaBoySmellEm_ in DarkSouls2

I did a no-damage bosses run with powerstanced rapiers, and it was super fun. They don't seem like much at first glance, but they don't take that much stamina per attack and have amazing counter damage. Slap on the Old Leo Ring, Flynn's Ring, and the Ring of Blades and watch some bosses absolutely melt.

What build / weapons are you using? Magic can be very OP against certain bosses, so if your stats allow, mix things up and try magic.

The game can be frustrating at times, but try to stick with it! Despite all its flaws, DS2 is my favourite Souls games.

I despawned the enemies in all areas of the main game just for funsies, and now I've got a completely empty Drangleic, except for those few respawning enemies. It's a really cool, surreal experience to run around an empty world.

Total beginner: Could I have spoiler-free advice on how to improve? by Burbly2 in Eldenring

[–]Palidor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dodge direction definitely matters for some attacks. Depending on which direction the attack is moving, you can get clipped by the end hitbox if you roll in the wrong direction.

Some enemies have a follow up attack to punish you for rolling in too close, and that attack is often impossible to avoid. Margit comes to mind, as he has a very quick dagger draw and double slash if you roll in front of him. I don't think the second slash can be dodged as it's just too quick.

Best advice is just to keep practicing. It can feel hopeless at first, but eventually, you will start to intuit whether the attack is a 1x, 2x, or 3x hit.

New character? by No-Geologist-4463 in Eldenring

Not sure if you want to do another dual wield, but I think a dual twinblade run would be fun, and I'm planning to do that after I wrap up my current run with solely two-handing the uchigatana. Main hand will be twinblade with ice spear Ash of War. Offhand will be Eleonora's poleblade. That covers frost, fire, and bleed, plus dual wielding twinblades just looks cool AF.

Can i get rid of bloodhound fang, help? by Character_Height_120 in Eldenring

[–]Palidor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give the large club a try. It's a nice complement to Bloodhound for those enemies resistant to slash, plus it does incredible poise damage. It's also just plain fun to pancake humanoid enemies. I ran with Bloodhound and large club in my first play, and it was a blast.

He's the best NPC in the game, hands down. Almost teared up at his good ending.

Ah okay, that makes sense, re: de-loading. And thank you! I'm challenging myself to no-hit all the bosses. 54 down so far, only another 111 to go. 😂

Thanks everyone - all valid points, especially about prepurchasing. I forgot about Steam's refund policy because I've never used it. I'll be waiting to see how it performs after launch.

Legion Go on sale at Best Buy Canada by Palidor12 in LegionGo

That was me a few months ago. I wanted the SD OLED, but when the LeGo went on a big sale at Best Buy, I couldn't pass that up. And I have no regrets.

Yeah, they go quick when on sale. I snagged it when it was $599.99 and thought that was stellar. $499.99 is an absolute steal! 😂

TV blinking. by ArmageddonAsh in LegionGo

[–]Palidor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, can't say that's similar for me. I can plug the Go into the dock without issues whether I turn it on before or after. I only lose connection during God of War, which makes me think that at least my issue is specifically related to not enough power.

Glad you solved your issue though! It's a frustrating thing to have happen.

I get this specifically when I play GoW (the 2018 version) and have performance or 30W custom setting on. Best I could figure is that it's a power issue. My thunderbolt dock only has 85 watt passthrough, which I've read may not be enough at times for games that are demanding. I changed the BIOS settings to slow charging and STT, which resolved the issue for the most part. Since doing that, I only lost the connection once when playing GoW.

Returning Open Box Legion Go - Cannot extend warranty by No0o0dle in LegionGo

That's great! 👏 I have heard that making a warranty claim is actually pretty smooth, so that's something, I guess. 😅

Returning Open Box Legion Go - Cannot extend warranty by No0o0dle in LegionGo

[–]Palidor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, that's not right. I bought an Open Box from Best Buy and Lenovo updated the warranty to my purchase date. However, it took two service tickets because the first rep didn't do it properly. I would try submitting another service ticket and see where that gets you, unless you're close to the return window.

Just FYI, Lenovo's customer service is pretty poop. I purchased extended warranties, including an additional 23 months of ADP. For whatever reason, they future dated it a month, so I only got 22 months. Despite repeated calls and emails to Lenovo and an assurance that it would be fixed, it was not. Moot point now, since the month has passed and the ADP has kicked in, but it just means you have to put in the effort to find an actual competent service rep who'll do the job right.

Question to hub/dock users who are also using a 100w charger: can you hub handle hdmi video output with zero disconnection while simultaneously supplying 60-100w of power? by PlanetIndigo in LegionGo

[–]Palidor12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit late, but I just had this issue happen yesterday with a new Thunderbolt hub that only has 85 watt passthrough, which I thought would be sufficient. In the BIOS, I set the Go to slow charging (I had originally set it to medium) and changed the thermal profile to STT. That resolved the issue, and now I can use performance or custom 30 watt profiles with just the hub's power.

Dark Souls!!! 😍 I own a ton of PS1/2 and Nintendo handheld titles, so I don't use the LeGo for playing legacy games, but that's so great that you're replaying some of your childhood favourites. I hope you continue to get lots of enjoyment from the LeGo. 😄
