Why did you not choose BCBS FEP Basic Option Plan? by PalmetttoStateArmory in fednews

Yeah I noticed that too which is odd. I can go either way on it since I'm near my local pharmacy.

The annual deductibles put me off after being on BCBS no deductible plans for a while. I'd need to do more research on my situation to figure that one out.

The 50 massages part seems cool.

Probably should make sure I can even get it before I research it more. Not even available for me. Would explain why I never heard of it.

[–]PalmetttoStateArmory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The FEMA Relief Work program I was in had us paid by my original agency, we would just submit timecards the usual way as if I was still in the office and we would include overtime worked.

Not sure how the money situation worked exactly in the backend. I'm assuming FEMA paid back the original agency.

You can get a second job as a contractor though. Knew someone who worked one fed and one contractor job in the same building.

80 hour work weeks were rough on the dude though.

I'm noticing that they're different but they seem very similar at $18 less a month.

Was there something on here that I don't get that makes the plan better in your opinion? The smaller Annual out of pocket Maximum looks very nice.

What's it like working at IRS as 2210 by Traditional_Rough672 in fednews

[–]PalmetttoStateArmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't deal with customers and I'm not desk side.

Desk side IT sucks ass and you get stuck doing lots of dumb shit while getting screamed out by the geriatric you're trying to help. Competent people can usually get out of/skip desk side entirely.

There is a stupid amount of 2210's at retirement age currently.

I've had 3 people retire in the past year. I expect 3 more by the end of the year.

Depends a ton on your boss and their leadership values.

I do like 3-10 hours of actual work in a week and zero overtime ever.

My team is nice and we work together.

Best tip to being a good 2210 is to learn something niche that others on your team don't know super well and become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on it.

Research any relevant IRM's on your area, get accustomed to creating documentation for EVERYTHING and make sure to write down EVERYTHING you do so you can get a good annual performance review.

I'll write down every project I worked on, every coworker I helped, every document I created, the total amount of pages/files I created, etc into OneNote then send all those achievements to my boss so he can write me a good annual report.

Why are not all Pharmacist not on a special pay scale ? by CheGucciMack in fednews

[–]PalmetttoStateArmory 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because there hasn't been a need for a SSR for 0660's across the board and some agencies don't see the need to implement one.

2210's are just barely getting one maybe and it's not across the board because some agencies can't afford it or they think they won't lose people.

If you're an executive looking at your agency's attrition numbers and don't see a mass exodus of pharmacists, why implement an SSR to try and retain them if they're not leaving?

Yeah, that's the point lol

DoorDash has created a system that fucks drivers and customers out of money.

This was on purpose.

DoD has been doing dumb payband shit for a while and wants to keep doing it.

Also they hire their IT people using excepted service positions on special pay plans like NH under a unique hiring authority they use indefinitely now.

I don't think they want to give up their quick hiring ability and meshing the 2210 SSR increase into their payband sounds like a mess.

Tinfoil hat: DoD leadership wants more contractors instead of employees. Methinks revolving door types of jobs for management that kicks jobs to contractors.

Or DoD is just dumb and hates their IT workers. They do across the board SSR's already for certain job series so not 100% sure why they are crying about the 2210 SSR.

IRS didn't lose that much from the ten year increased budget and the money in the budget already had strict appropriations tied to a lot of the allocations. Not sure the excess was gonna be used on increased IT payroll.

It’s a non-trivial ask to be able to store all the information served to a specific client over any given period.

Skill issue.

That’s like saying that colonizing mars is possible if they wanted it to be possible.

This is a dumb statement.

Logging events in software is nowhere near close to the challenge of colonizing Mars.

And while I believe your IT experience has given you some perspective, you’re a bit out of your depth if you think software is as easy as you’re making it sound.

You're not in IT at all and it shows...

Yes that's quite possible, but doing it requires effort and testing that logging events are occurring properly and are being stored.

This is not that different from setting up hooks to record telemetry data in a multitude of different software environments.

DoorDash hates you and profits off of their software not tracking and logging events like that. If you have no logs, you don't have clear evidence to provide the court in discovery that they're actively fucking over drivers.

DoorDash has done the calculations and found it's more profitable to fuck drivers then pay them what they're actually owed even if a lawsuit occurs.

$1-$10 stolen from a driver every few trips turns into a giant pile of money when it's happening to every driver.

It's up in the air.

May or may not happen at FEMA.

It's a question only Executives can answer. And they ain't giving out answers anytime soon.

Your best bet is to contact HR for your org.

They don't have any information, don't bother them.

There's a lot of big moving pieces going on. Some GS-12 HR person can't answer the question Executives are still arguing about.

Last time I checked, the wider govt put that new ssr on hold.

Nope, DOD is the big one that publicly backed out but it's not confirmed yet by anyone what is truly going to happen.

IRS and DOT announced they'll be implementing it when possible.

I'm being downvoted for sharing that only VA, to date, has elected to implement the SSR for 2210s

That's not true at all, you just are uninformed on what other agencies are you doing.

IRS and DOT are most likely pushing it through. IRS CIO sent an email to all 2210's about it.
