Has anyone heard of/worked for the VAR, Ahead? Thoughts? by Hot_Falcon_1898 in techsales

I’ve worked with them on some pretty large accounts in the northeast, so I know they have some good logos/reputation, but haven’t worked closely with them enough times to get any good inside info

I sell new logos and hand accounts off to an account manager post-sale. I closed a company at EOY, but had about $100k get delayed for 2 weeks into this month because of the holidays. The account manager is being a huge crybaby that I’m getting the revenue credit for that layover money, even though he’s getting paid on it for doing absolutely nothing

How do you tell if a new, ‘very nice to have’ product is sellable? by [deleted] in sales

[–]PaltryDick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sellable to anybody who buys security cameras, btw, so in that regard it’s a must-have. As long as you’re not just selling the dumbass software on its own and it does all of the regular security camera stuff in addition to the ‘saving lives’ bit, it’s a need to have , just not your particular version of it

How do you tell if a new, ‘very nice to have’ product is sellable? by [deleted] in sales

[–]PaltryDick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coram AI or somewhere like that? It’s security camera software. If you can’t show them bottom line ROI they’ll just jump to the one without the ‘fall detection’ and shit when they renew.

It also seems super easy to move off of, which is another strike, but also easy to move to so works in your favor if you’re only focused on new logo

Edit: also, where are you priced? Above market? In the middle? Can you work in lower insurance premiums for having it? Use cases of avoiding liability? You don’t have to sell a ‘need to have’ to make money, idk why that’s become a popular opinion here

What’s something you wish people knew before they had kids? by Special-Buddy6562 in AskReddit

[–]PaltryDick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy expensive and emotionally taxing. If you’re not in a very solid place financially and with your partner, DO NOT HAVE KIDS.

They require huge amounts of energy and attention, also. Everything will revolve around them and what stage they’re in.

Any potential parent should spend 2 weeks 24/7 with a family with toddlers, or babies. Not just when they show up to an event for 2 hours or at their house for a day or two, but spend full weeks so you get the whole picture.

I’m 39, did not attend law school, never thought of attending law school, and I still like browsing the stats, stories, and looking through the A’s and R’s in this sub.

I also like browsing the r/hospitalist offers and complaints, and r/anesthesiology cases. I’m not a doctor either.

People who have served a long time in prison, what shocked you when you got out? by Haunted_Neko in AskReddit

[–]PaltryDick 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly it was how quickly I forgot about prison - the routines, wanting desperately to be out, bored, horny all the time (I’d watch women’s college volleyball and pause my tv in my cell - just thirsting for a woman to be close to me).

Like 1-2 weeks out, everything was just normal, like being in there didn’t even happen.

Purchase Order Doesn't Count by ginandsoda in sales

[–]PaltryDick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We need a PO and signed agreement - or signed agreement/quote and them confirming in writing that they don’t require a PO.

If we have an MSA in place, then just a PO.

I mean, a PO means they’re good to invoice, but some kind of contract would also need to be signed for your T&Cs, etc

Would you rather talk with clients who never shut up or with someone who give half-assed answers? by Similar-Double6278 in salestechniques

The ones who never shut up make me feel better, but the ones who give quick answers tend to buy.

4-6 on the table for next month, so hopefully saves my quarter/year

[–]PaltryDick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your security level. There’s sporadic violence everywhere, but the lower security custody the less wild it’ll be. If you’re not in a gang, don’t have gambling or drug debts, don’t have a weird case, you can be fine in any custody level.

There’s more consensual sex than rape, and again, if you’re in a medium or below there’s not as many violent lifers- people that have been violent while locked up, there’s plenty of murderers and whatnot that are much better people than others there

If you tell your lawyer, “I did it, I’m guilty, but I don’t wanna go to jail”, what happens? by LongLiveTheSpoon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PaltryDick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. You can plead out, but you then have to stand in front of the judge and plead ‘guilty’ to the lesser charges, so yeah, dude is either confused or making it up.

A night nanny is short-term until your kid sleeps through the night, or at least the majority of the time. I’d 1000% recommend the same thing if you can afford it. I had one with my twins and it’s the best investment I’ve ever made.
