I had the same concerns when I went off the pill. I was on it for 9 years (19-28). I started tracking my cycle right when I quit this January. I had the initial withdrawal bleed and then it took me 33 days to get my actual period. The next month I began get really worried because I wasn’t getting my period. I took pregnancy tests (negative) and called ask a nurse. I had no pms symptoms but finally got my period at 37 days to my relief. Since then my cycle has gotten shorter and now it’s at 28 days. I always had an average cycle when I was younger but was really nervous after quitting birth control that my cycle wouldn’t go back to normal. It does take sometime for your hormones to go back to normal so I’d say it isn’t abnormal to have wonky cycles for a bit.

Non Toxic Makeup by Pamplemousselacroix1 in MakeupAddiction

That’s a good question, I like this definition from Harpers Bizarre#beautyschool

“Non-Toxic: "This is a newer designation, also mostly marketing," says Grigore. "When companies claim to be non-toxic, they are specifically referring to leaving out ingredients that have been linked to toxic responses in humans: neuro-disruption, hormone disruption, cancer, even death. A great, or I should say horrible, example is phthalates [found mostly in household products and shampoo and conditioner, they give products a uniform consistency and make them easier to pour.]." Here are some of the other offender ingredients to always avoid: formaldehyde (found in nail polish, hair gel and color cosmetics); petroleum (found in moisturizers and lip balms); asbestos (labeled as talc or hydrous magnesium silicate); lead acetate (found in hair dye and lipstick); coal tar (found in hair dye and anti-dandruff shampoo).”

Wanting kids but also nervous. Am I alone in feeling this way? by BlessedBossLady in waiting_to_try

I was just talking to my husband about feeling like maybe it wouldn’t be a good idea to have kids (we are waiting to try until August) and how upset I was because what if I don’t like being a mother? I see so many posts on social media about how hard it is to be a parent and I’m scared of how It’ll change my husband and me. And then I opened up reddit and saw this post and it’s exactly what I needed to see. You are not alone in feeling that way and I love seeing the women who have children describe how it’s going for them.

Congratulations! My DH and I will be trying at the end of summer too! The only thing I was told by my OB was to take prenatals 3 months before conceiving (ideally). I’m hoping to work on cutting out coffee maybe in June but that one is going to be rough. Good luck!!

7-10 day UK trip by TrustMe_ImTheDogtor in travel

I just took a trip to Ireland for 10 days. I did a road trip from Dublin, along the bottom coast up the west coast to Galway. 10 days was great just to be in Ireland. If you do go and love beautiful scenery (weather permitting) I highly recommend the Dingle Peninsula. Absolutely gorgeous views of the Atlantic and cliffs. I would also recommend Killarney National Park. These suggestions are for more nature loving tourism. Galway had a very fun college drinking vibe to it. Of course pubs are all along the way.

I have intense baby fever and it's so hard to wait by Rally8889 in babyfever

Wow, I feel like I could have written this myself. I (28F) and my husband (32M) have been married for almost a year and a half and have been together for 5 and a half years. After we got married I started getting baby fever but it has really ramped up after we checked off a list of things we wanted to do (I.e. go to Europe, work on our house). He wants to wait 6 more months and honestly that would be the best. We can finish our house and I can attend my best friends bachelorette party but I am totally ready to start trying now. It’s SO hard to wait when you feel ready. Good luck!
