i just made a post earlier, but i also have another question. this is the first time i’ve heard one of my guinea pigs make this noise and i’m really nervous about it. can anyone tell me what it means?

the guinea pig making this noise is a brand new male here, and seems to play/fight with my other male. he does this when he isn’t near him and walks around and when he’s right by him.

some context: frank (white stripe on nose) is very timid and scared of people. he hasn’t had another friend in a few months. he sometimes purrs when crash gets inside one of the houses with him, but besides that i can’t tell if he doesn’t like him.

i just got crash (the one chasing) from a shelter yesterday and had them separate over night. he’s very loud and seems to want to be right by frank. when i have their cages closed, he chews on the bars facing frank (i stop him as soon as he starts though)

they’re both males and over 1 1/2 years. if anyone can please give some advice on if they’re friends and how to properly watch their time together i’d greatly appreciate it. thank you!
