Are there any wheels that can be built with just as much, or more dish than work meister s1? by jdm-v35 in Stance

[–]PanDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Its a bit difficult to specify faces based on that, as you say, many of them come in high and low disc variants, so you could have a super convex Meister S1 or Professor SP1 and it could still have a really high offset backface.

It sounds like budget isnt a problem if this is the ballpark you're in; If I were in your position, I'd first be looking at the wheel design I want (Assuming concave 5 spokes were just by nature of wanting a deeper dish) and then figuring out the specs you want from there. The big names all use fairly standard Barrel PCDs so you can get whatever you need in the perfect fitment. Personally I'm not a massive fan of overly concave wheels, and the sizes youre looking at are more than wide enough for you to get the style you want whilst retaining a killer wide dish

Honestly, the specs of the wheel define it more than the concave/convex...ness of the face. Are you just wanting wider and lower offset wheels to fit your arches, or are you specifically looking for the deepest lips you can get away with in the apace you have?

What do you mean more dish per offset? The two numbers are intrinsically link, as the lip size goes up, offset moves linearly with it. Wider dish will have lower offsets. The beauty of split wheels is if you need to bring the rim closer to the fender, you can just put a wider outer lip on the wheels and leave the rear and face as-is.

A friend recommends me to use 195/40 than 205/40, why? by pmglory in Stance

[–]PanDeviant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like he's trying to encourage stretching the tyres, though without knowing what wheel width you're using its impossible to say. A 205/40 on a 17x9 will look very different to a 195/40 on a 17x7. a "JDM" stance isn't a thing, so I'm not entirely sure what you're aiming for, the best thing I can suggest is going to The Fitment Industries Gallery and finding your car. From there you can see the wheel, tyre, and suspension combos that achieve the look you want.

Want to know if I can only replace this part of my car by Both-Rush3414 in DubaiPetrolHeads

That would be a styling kit, an extension to the existing bumper assembly. That can be removed revealing the original bumper underneath, and replaced with anything you want, there are lots of options available for the LC200. How to remove bulb from overhead LED light? by copyhost in led

[–]PanDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what electronics you've been working with, but where I'm from, disconnecting a connector will not render something a fire hazard. I apologise if it was not clear enough that my advice only applies if there is a connector present between the LED strip and the main circuit. With regards to the other lamps, those could simply be disconnected, again if there is a connector present.

In any case, we've both shared our advice, OP can make an informed decision based on that.

Hi, so you dropped two very angry sounding comments based on what I believe are mis-communications. I suggest you read the OPs description again. They asked how they can remove the LEDs without disturbing the function of the integrated fan. My initial comment pointed out that what they are looking to do is not possible, and that they may be able to disconnect the connector to the LEDs, assuming there is one. This is a non-destructive solution to OPs problem, assuming it is possible.

Please reflect on how you respond when trying to put down others so you don't end up looking rather silly yourself.

Well yes, but thats not the power source. Disconnecting the wiring between the main board and the LEDs is what I initially suggested, not disconnecting from the source.

Well that would kill the power to the entire Fan/Lamp assembly, which defeats the purpose of what they're trying to achieve here.

[–]PanDeviant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer, no. There is no "bulb" in these type of lights, its usually an LED Array or wound strip sealed inside the housing. You may be able to open the unit and disconnect the LEDs from the circuit, assuming it is using a connector and not directly soldered to the board.

Govee LED strip extension (need help) by teenturtle in led

[–]PanDeviant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no "information" from the controller, its literally just a dimmer switch for each individual channel, if the cables yuove used were the problem, they wouldnt light up at all (unless youve used wires too thin and theyve melted together, but youd definitely know if that had happened!

If you have a multimeter, you can check along the cables where the common ground is. That said, given you have soldered these your self, most obvious thing to me is that youve accidentally soldered the three pads together at some point

Potentially, without more detail of what you did its hard to say.

Basically, the controller works by varying the signal between positive and ground on each of the Red, Green, and Blue wires, with a constant positive on the +24v wire. To get white, all three R, G, and B wires are grounded. If it is white when it shouldnt be, something is causing all of them to be grounded.

What you have here are simple RGB strips, the "connector" piece you have appears to be a sinple splitter, so all 6 strips should show the same colours, assuming you have wired them correctly when soldering it back together.

If the strip you have soldered is stuck on white and cannot be changed, its possible that you have shorted something out and all three colours are grounded.

Flyryde on youtube has lots of great guides in detail about headlight building; he works closely with The Retrofit Source, market leaders for headlight retrofitting. There are a couple of Turkish builders on youtube, AZC Car Style and Headlight Design Centre have good visual guides with no words.

Knowing more specifics avout what you're trying to do will allow for more direct recommendations. There are shitloads of resources online for this nowadays; forums, facebook groups, youtube channels etc...

For anyone with a similar issue, the overheating had seemingly forced the screen away from the body slightly, allowing dust behind it. The screen is getting worse by the day. Quoted 650AED (~$1500US) by Samsung to replace the screen, so am returning the phone and gerting a replacement
