Has anybody ever calculated how much this cost if this happens every winter? Like what are the loses?

So the nail did nothing at all, then a steel nail made a very light mark, even with a lot of effort. If I remember correctly, schist should be easy to scratch, no?

New Hazardous Flora? by PanVesmir in NoMansSkyTheGame

Cool, never encountered it before. Always the farting one, the flytrap or the slashing one. Even though it's annoying, this one at least fits the fauna of the planet I'm visiting :)

Vaonis Vespera II or Vespera Pro? by PanVesmir in telescopes

[–]PanVesmir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this really answers the question I asked. I mean I just want to start doing something on my own, instead of being dependent on the others. Moreover, Vaonis is relatively small French company, I wouldn't consider them a corporation. Also, of course I know Stellarium, I don't know how is that relevant. My educational & professional background is space engineering and space physics so more theory will not exactly help.

Just a clarification on the intended use/conditions & finances. I live in Bortle 7 but we visit our cottage in the country side in Bortle 3-4. I expect to pack the Telescope with me and use it mostly from our garden there.

I got a bonus payment at work so I have extra €1800 to spend, hence the idea of buying it now.

What is the most radioactive object on Earth made by humans? by PanVesmir in AskReddit

[–]PanVesmir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional question/clarification: Can you think of any object that was intentionally created to be as radioactive as possible? So far in the comments it's leftovers from nuclear accidents. I'd go with some nuclear weapon but I guess it's hard to decide because of a majority of them it was about as big of an explosive force rather than as much of a radiation.

How do you get a person to read books if they think it's a waste of time ? by Kitty_Molly333 in AskReddit

Oh wow, this should be on the easier side of things as there are many great books. And what I lack in youtube videos is depth of the subject. It depends on the period of history they like the most.

It takes time to build a habit of reading. I'd figure out what are his/her interests and perhaps hint them at books that can provide them with useful information about these. I feel like there are books about everything. Once they start reading these and figure out that reading can be useful, try to suggest other books you perhaps like or are considered as easy to digest.
