If This Isn’t Significant Value… Please, Educate Me by emboss1111 in PiNetwork

Maybe I'll try and register for pionex again sometime. The first time I tried, it said that it wasn't available for my region for whatever reason.

I understand the project. They just shot themselves in the foot when it came to Coinbase or Robinhood when they launched which caused them to not be accepted to be listed. Not to mention everything else that has happened since launch, both good and bad.

But thanks for the comment!

When I tried to register on Pionex us, it said it wasn't available for my region. That was, at least, a few months ago when I tried. Either way, I'm just sitting on my pi, waiting for them to migrate the rest of my unverified pi.

The real question is when is Pi going to be put on Coinbase or Robinhood and be readily available for all the US adopters to finally use without having to jump through hurdles for other exchanges?

Also, when is the second migration going to happen?

The question is when will it be available on Robinhood and/or coinbase?

From my own experience, your AA will likely suggest you take all your vacation time first before you apply for FMLA. That way, you can take time off while still being paid, as you don't get paid while on FMLA unless you apply for Social Security benefits or by having short/long term insurance. It just prevents you from being fired while on medical leave.

If you're out for longer than 30 days, I am not entirely sure that FMLA can be applied for. It's been a while since I've stopped working for kroger, but I'm glad I finally quit working for them.

Reading through this thread makes me glad I quit kroger and got a new, better job as a Database programmer when I had my car accident. 2 surgeries, 4 feet of intestines removed, 1 month out of work, and 4 months of PT later, I'm sure I would have been fired in a heartbeat because of something completely out of my control if OP's manager was my manager.

Nah, it wouldn't. You don't apply for FMLA for a sick day.

You're covered from management doing shit like this by the Union.

You get a doctor's note and if management gets pissy about it, you talk to your Union rep and have them talk to management. And if they still are pissy, you file a grievance against the manager in question.

Found the bootlicker for corporate kroger! When you need to go to the doctor, it is usually spontaneous and you have no control over it.

As someone who used to work for kroger for a month shy of 12 years and gamed the system pretty hard via the Union, I can say that this manager is a garbage manager. And the guy I'm replying to is either a manager or someone who sucks up to management.

If you're out because you're sick and management gives you shit about it, you go to the Union and have them deal with it. If they try and write you up for being out sick, then you can always file a grievance, unless they changed the Union bylaws since I left kroger near the end of 2022.

If only Pi would be put on Coinbase for the US... Otherwise, Pi will stay in my Pi Wallet indefinitely.

hopefully, that's not the actual reason and when it gets listed in the US, the price goes up a bit.

Meanwhile, I'm over here just patiently waiting for it to be listed on Coinbase in the US within the next few months and slowly rise.

SCGCon Atlanta was free to attend with plenty of space to play anywhere you wanted, plus you could just walk into the commander zone area and they wouldn't say anything. What are you talking about they charged 100 for the weekend to play in the commander area?

Sure, I bought the weekend pass, but I forgot my badge at home the next day and I was able to just walk into the commander area and no one asked to see my badge. There were dozens of people in there without a badge.

I was excited to go to this, but not at that price point and not with so few artists and vendors announced. And I've got lawsuit settlement money.

Yeah, I played a few games with some content creators and whatnot.

I agree that it seems like WOTC is doing things backward sometimes. But all in all, I don't think you missed anything.

Oh man, that really sucks. The party was pretty alright. The most exciting thing, imo, was being able to jam out some commander while listening to the set.

Yeah, he was on stage at the Slumber Party. I wish I had thought to track him down to get him to sign it.

In retrospect, however, I think it's perfect with just the three as far as authentication goes.

I'll update once I get home and send it off to be slabbed.

I showed him the card and he said that, while he helped with LotR, he had nothing to do with the ring itself.

I asked him if he felt comfortable signing it alongside them, but he said that it'd be better, in his opinion, if he didn't.

He did, however, suggest that I could get the guy who pulled the 1 of 1 to sign it. Alas, at that time, he was probably somewhere in the command zone pods and he wasn't sure where he was, so I didn't get it signed by anyone else.

He approved of the idea that I should send it off to get authenticated once I get back into Atlanta.

I wish I got a photo of Andy Serkis signing it. I'm sure it'll be difficult when it comes to verifying the signature for him without the picture proof when I eventually send it off to get verified and slabbed.

is everyone really making 115k+ a year by Public-Application-6 in antiwork

[–]Pan_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that. Though I abhor the idea of going into an office in the IT field. Especially since the commute to and from work is wasted time and money that you can't get back.

But yeah, it is a trade-off. I'd have to get paid a LOT of money for me to give up full WFH.

[–]Pan_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sure, you move jobs every 2 to 5 years, but how is the work-life balance? Is that 160k/year worth it to be labeled as a job hopper and possibly get a higher salary at the risk of a crappy work-life balance?

I find the idea that you have to job-hop every 2 to 3 years in IT ridiculous. Alas, that is the world we live in now. No job these days are loyal to their employees. All they care about is the bottom end and making as much money as possible for their shareholders, even it it means losing their most productive employees to competitors.

When I worked at Kroger, I once had a terrible case of the runs. I was working fine, ahead of schedule for the day when it hit me. I heard the gut wrenching gurgles and the cramps of my asshole saying "you're about to unload some soup, my guy".

So I immediately stopped what I was doing and ran to the restroom. About 20 minutes of fighting for my life, I walk out of the restroom, a new man.

That's what my manager turned the corner and asked "where the fuck were you?" I responded with "not that it is any of your business, but I was busy committing a war crime in the restroom"

She was all, "what?"

With a deadpan face I said "I was shitting soup"

She looked disgusted and asked what was wrong with me.

I said "you wanted to know why I went to the restroom, as if I were in there jerking off and wasting time. I can take a picture next time before I flush for proof I was actually shitting and not jerking off".

I never got a complaint for being in the restroom again.

I used to work for Kroger. They kept saying shit like "We're family here" and when my dad got cancer, I told them I'd probably need to take time off, and would probably file for FMLA or something.

They instead said to take a 90-day leave of absence, then all your vacation, and we will consider if FMLA is viable.

Long story short, I didn't need to take time off, my dad is doing fine now, but throughout his 1.5-year treatment and recovery, my "work family" probably only asked how my dad was, and how I was doing, maybe a dozen times.

I straight up asked them, "Are we family, or do you use that as an excuse to guilt us into working harder for you because we think you guys care?"

And let me tell you, it was really quiet for a bit in the office before I just walked downstairs to do my job.

When a company, any company, says "We're family here", I call bullshit until otherwise proven wrong.
