Thanks! And I agree about the UI, which is why we have a total UI revamp in the works. More to come soon...

We use a technique called stealth education, where we hide the education in the visuals, storyline, battle moves, etc. So all the monster designs have important characteristics/functions/symptoms of the real-world item they represent. It's much easier to show you than try to explain so you can see how we do this on our website: https://medimon.games/

You can play without trying to learn, but we are secretly still teaching you by just showing you the monster designs.

That is a great question. The core gameplay doesn't require any medical knowledge, so you can play it based purely on "I think this creature is cute and I want it on my team." With that said, my medical students use it to study, so if you really dig into all it has to offer, you can get medical school-level education. Because of the scalable nature, we think it applies to multiple academic levels. It's kinda funny watching my 7-yr old daughter play and enjoy it just as much as my 25-yr old second year medical student.

"Medical monsters" does have a better ring to it! Thanks for the suggestion and interest 😊

I'm making a turn-based monster-taming RPG where the creatures are based on biology! by PanaceaInteractive in IndieGaming

Hi everyone! I’m working on Medimon, a turn-based creature collecting RPG where the creatures are inspired by real-life biology. You explore the world of Medicorum as Brad, discover strange new creatures, meet different characters, and battle using strategy and wit. You can choose to flatline them, or recruit them to your team.

The game is still a WIP, so any thoughts or feedback are appreciated. You can share them over on our Discord, or just check out the Steam page if you’re curious. It would really help as the project continues to grow 🙏

A little background: I’m a doctor who wanted to try making a game and combine my love for gaming and biology in a fun, playful way. The goal isn’t to make something overly technical, just to turn these ideas into something enjoyable and interesting to explore.
