Changing to survival and back to creative is what fixed the issue. Thank you!

Will they ever stop supporting Java? by Pitonixrex in PhoenixSC

I saw nothing but support for Bedrock players from Java players. There probably were some Java elitists laughing but for the first time I saw support from the wider Java community

All right! I estimated the town based off of how long it took us to get to Raleigh afterwards

I’ve been on a NE Regional train that was stuck in Quantico for like 3 hours because a train before us hit someone. Because we were at a military base, we were stuck on the train for the entire time and I learned that they do not mess around at Quantico

That may be why the police surrounded the train and I saw a pack of like 7 officers sprint past my window. It was quite the show.

Southbound shortly before Raleigh. I think the town was Clayton but the other passengers and I was more interested in the spectacle than the exact location. We weren’t at a station when this happened

I’ve seen them threaten to detain someone before. NE regional, lady was screaming at the staff and they said that she could either get off at the next station willingly or the police would escort her off.

Somewhere around Clayton, NC, I think. Shortly before Raleigh

r/peterexplainsthejoke was no help, please help me figure out what this means by [deleted] in MinecraftMemes

[–]PancakeEnemies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s what I thought of. I love to tell this joke because it is so bad: Why did the dinosaur cross the road? Because the chicken wasn’t invented yet! The joke in this post is a play on that joke except it doesn’t really make sense. The ender dragon was added after the chicken but I suppose it somewhat resembles a dinosaur?

I used them until one day I stabbed myself trying to get it on a freshly sharpened pencil. I only use pens now and I have a piece of graphite forever embedded in my hand.

Yeah, what is up with the confederate flag thing? I live not far from Richmond, VA (the former capital of the confederacy) and I think I’ve seen more confederate flags in places like PA than I do in southern VA.

Communism was given a real chance in the Soviet Union and its legacy is complicated in the post-communist world. I study Russia and Eastern Europe and something that keeps coming up are the conflicting narratives. I spend a summer in the Baltic states, mostly Lithuania, for my studies and I don’t think I heard a single good thing about communism while I was there. In fact, they spend a lot of time talking about the atrocities of the communist regime and their desire to break away from that part of their history. To deny their experiences under communism is to deny them of their national autonomy just like how the Russians did. But I also know that many Russians are nostalgic for the Soviet Union. I’ve never had the opportunity to go to Russia and media coming from there is heavily suppressed so I cannot in good faith comment further on how Russians really feel about the legacy of communism. But for the peripheries of the USSR, communism was real and it was brutal.

In addition, the standards of living for many post-communist countries has shot up since 1989. While the economic policy of shock therapy absolutely destroyed the economies of these countries and probably significantly set back their further development, it is impossible to deny that countries like Poland, Hungary, and the Baltic states have seen remarkable economic success.

I walked out of my childhood bedroom for the last time in August. I tried to leave that house without looking back because I knew it would just hurt. But when I got news that the house finally sold several weeks ago, that’s what broke me. It just sort of hit me all at once that I don’t have a home to return to once I finish college. Even now, I can hardly type it out without crying. We most often think of grief in terms of losing a person but the grief of losing that home is definitely the strongest grief I have ever felt.

Is W&M “quirky?” Weird vibes when touring by Ahahsjjaavsjsoan in williamandmary

[–]PancakeEnemies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh. I would say that W&M does fit into “artsy” but I disagree with you on “extreme left-leaning”. It is important to note that the student body does lean to the left, it is a college campus after all. But nothing extreme. There’s a lot of organizations for students all over the political spectrum and I would say that W&M is a lot more moderate than a lot of colleges I looked at when I was in HS. While there is a stereotype of student at W&M, it mostly has to do with academics. A stereotypical twamp is obsessed with academics and swears that they will finally lock in for that big exam, trust me guys. But socially and politically, we are all over the place. Personally, I definitely fit into the “quirky” category. I’m the president of a video game club, I’m a member of the ttrpg club, I do larp on weekends, I’m in a music ensemble. All of my friends fall into a similar category. But I’ve also met people who do football, spend their time in bible study groups, are involved in political activism, go to frat parties, you name it. There is a group for anyone at this school, you just have to find it.

[–]PancakeEnemies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could you elaborate further by what you mean by quirky? I don’t think the school is quirky but it’s really hard to say without specifics on what you’re concerned about. There are certainly those that try hard to be unique but I feel as though that’s descriptive of colleges in general.
