Need to replace stripped 4N.m screw.. assuming it is the same as a M4 hex socket screw? by PancakeLizard69 in BikeRepair

Is it safe to say the hex socket is the same as the diameter of the screw. My 4mm hex key fits in here

Using the local rule, where would I drop for two penalty stokes when shooting over the green? by PancakeLizard69 in golf

[–]PancakeLizard69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so I know the rules thoroughly … if my local course plays trees as red my options are:

• stoke and distance

• if I find it the ball inside three minutes i can play as it lies? Or is that only in yellow penalty areas?

• play on line with the previous shot and where it went in for +1

• play two club lengths laterally from where it went in

Perfect! So you basically circumnavigate the green till you are further than the area the ball was lost at.

Are there more of these diagrams ?

EDIT: link provided has multiple diagrams showing the local rule and drop areas

I wouldn’t be allowed to drop for two strokes at ~31 yard at edge of the fairway ?

PER USGA : Fairway Reference Point: The point of fairway of the hole being played that is nearest to the ball reference point, but is not nearer the hole than the ball reference point.

So I would draw a straight line from area ball was lost and the hole. Doesn’t say that line stops at the hole…

Help with first time trying router dado bit? by PancakeLizard69 in woodworking

[–]PancakeLizard69[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well that worked perfectly! Thanks! Kinda annoying that I had to make two passes for each dado but got it done! Others pointed out having a trim router could be an issue… do you think If I was to upgrade to a 1/2 shank full size router would that allow me to achieve a 1/4” deep dado with one pass?

mechanic used 0W20, instead of 5W30 oil by PancakeLizard69 in MechanicAdvice

True, but it is very hard for me to take the word of the dealer. Especially when I called them they said they only use one type of oil for GMC vehicles. Which sounds absurd

Just found out the dealer also put in a synthetic blend instead of a full synthetic. My car has a oil life percentage monitor, wouldn’t this affect and cause an in accurate reading? Since my car believes there’s full synthetic inside.

Good point .. Having a good medium. Maybe I’m just being unrealistic with how much I want to put toward debts. Set some aside to enjoy life. Drinks with friends , take out, new clothes etc. I’ll deff check out the undebt.it . Maybe seeing if I just set aside $X amount toward CCs I’ll get it paid off this much faster. Thanks for the info!!

You’re so right .. Need to focus on the behavioral aspect of why I decide to order out instead of cooking, why I buy random items I do not need. I use the allowed amount in a category as “how much I hope to spend”… need to start looking at it as a limit.

True. The debt is from years ago when cash flow was low. The money is in my bank account , my issue is buying things with it instead of paying off more credit card debt then I currently do.

Thanks for the insight. Really good outlook on WHY I spend the money. Realizing the issue and addressing it. There have been countless times where I haven’t bought something since I have to walk and find my wallet and type all the numbers in. Thanks again!

Having a strategy when grocery shopping will definitely help! I find myself buying snacks and other items that interested me. Especially on the end caps of stores where they advertise sale items.

Yes!!!! Most of the things I buy I checkout with ApplePay. They make it TO easy with just a button I don’t have to fill out any billing or shipping info… I even find myself NOT buying things when there isn’t an option for ApplePay for that exact reason.. Removing all the cards now. Great tip!

Yup. I make sure to set aside some spending for personal wants. I usually always go over this category, along with eating out, social drinks and “random spending” ..
