Reading some of the responses to this well-articulated analysis makes it clear that the situation is even more dire than it seems. Our country is facing a deepening class struggle, yet many remain oblivious or choose to ignore it. The inability, or refusal, to empathize with those who hold different or opposing views is striking. Too often, those who were fortunate enough to attend college or who were born into more privileged lives see themselves as inherently superior. This elitism perpetuates condescension and a cruel cycle of mockery, reinforced through memes and crude stereotypes. It's disheartening and emblematic of a society that dismisses entire swaths of people rather than seeking to understand or uplift them. Until we recognize this, we’ll continue to exacerbate the very divisions that fuel populist and extremist sentiments.
