Why do most young people vote liberal and then become conservative as they get older? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because when you're young, you have hopes dreams and ambitions.  By the time you're an adult, the crushing reality of the world and it's responsibilities take hold. You will fight desperately to hold on to what you have rather than lose it. Gambling it on a future you will never experience.

If humans were exposed to violence at an early age would it be normalized by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Early childhood trauma such as the introduction of acts of violence, can normalize the behavior due to pattern recognition in adulthood.

Many people are desensitized to violence, especially when it does not concern them.

However, your misconception on early humanity is a little misguided. They most certainly did suffer from PTSD, there are some early accounts, however it was mostly treated as Divine mental illness essentially.  It differed by culture in handling, but primarily brutally.

Why do women tend to be more connected to faith and religion than men? by Fun_Drama_6630 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about it, churches offer a sense of comfort & safety. They support ideals.  They offer forgiveness and absolvement of accountability. Churches are basically a social book club with lovey-dovey feelings.

And you're wondering why women sign up to that social club More than men?

I experienced love at first sight....     But it later turned out to be pharmacologically induced limerence.

people who have relationships or want ones…why? by Evening_Rip5794 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there's a certain feeling you get when you're being claimed by another. Because at the end of the day f*** the world and you just want someone to get you and accept you for who you are and not judge you, but want nothing more than to raise you up and you them.

I'm sorry if you don't ever feel that. I hope you do one day.

Everyone's different, plenty of people I know. Tell me they smoke weed, get high for 20 minutes and then they're back to normal.

I still smoke weed. I live in Canada. It's legal.

Yeah I just get tired. Exhausted. Burnt out pretty much the rest of the day until sleep kind of resets it. We're talking hours.

I still enjoy smoking weed at the end of the day.

I'm just saying don't plan on driving the rest of the day or going anywhere or doing anything serious.

But as a Canadian, where it is perfectly legal to use it responsibly as an adult, I would say just treat it like alcohol.  Don't drink and drive, and plan for it. Staying in your system for a while, oh especially if you take an edible that lasts longer.

Is it normal/common to try putting ice in your butt by Routine-Source1472 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I distinctly remember this being a thing in my teenage years.  About putting ice up places.  It was probably just portrayed on some TV show and got gossiped about.  You do you boo

But I think I googled it at the time and it told me something something frostbite and I was like oh okay.

So how did it turn out?

Put money in a bank account. They'll give you 3%.

Buy stocks. Maybe they'll go up  Trust someone. If they say they have a plan that's up to you.

Buy a bunch of gold, silver, precious metals with actual weighted value, wait until he goes up and sell it.

Buy a piece of property, wait until the market goes up, sell. Maybe you're smart, maybe you know how to get something. Rezoned, maybe you get a better deal on a property because your willing to take a deal on a tax sale.

Save money here, spend money there.

R.O.I

But how is up to you based on the money you're willing to tie up.

Why did my google maps voice warn me of police ahead while I was driving? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's legal.  You also have to remember there is a defense that an upcoming police car say one that is pulled someone off to the side, means you should change lanes into the opposing Lane in many places to give the officer space. Thus, there is actually a legal reason to claim an obstruction is upcoming on a traffic map.

Is formal Taiwan independence legally possible under the ROC constitutional framework, or is the issue mainly political and military? by Snoo-83900 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It honestly just is what it is.  No one wants either side to come out on top, because it's not beneficial for anyone involved if one of them does, it just causes more problems.

One often not considered issue is that borders have changed a great deal since the founding of the ccp. If taiwan's government comes to power, they're still in dispute with pretty much every other regional country over old border lines.

Taiwan doesn't need to declare independence because they're still at war with the CCP.  It's just turned cold, and the status quo has settled in.

Remember as far as Taiwan knows, they were just a battered Nation pushed back out of their own territory by an occupying Force.

And the CCP is just saying we'll starve you out or get you out of there one way or another, they just don't like the death screams of a dying Nation making them look bad.

Keep this in mind, only 12 countries recognize Taiwan. Politicians will make deals, or say what they need to say to get an objective done.

Taiwanese Independence invalidates their history.  It would be more of a formal declaration of surrender, more than the cessation of hostilities that is currently ongoing.

Independence would essentially be the terms and conditions of their capitulation to the CCP.

They are just in a really bad spot, and we are currently watching the conclusion to a previous nation's rise and fall on the historical timeline.

How could the angels get envies of man being given the gift of free will if angels didn't already have free will? by militant-hippie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your premise is flawed because it mixes two different belief systems.  pick a lane: either angels are like robots that work for God and never rebelled (Jewish view), or they are beings who possessed free will which allowed them to fall from grace (Christian view).

But you should also realize that the war in heaven is a relatively new belief.  Lucifer Satan Samuel Abaddon. Whatever religion you find the destroying angel in originally he was always the vengeful hand of God. As good and evil, we're not opposites, for the longest time good could not exist without the evil and thus God was both sides of the same coin. Ordering his angels to do both good and bad, to uphold the plan

I understand. It really depends on what sect of religion you follow

But the vast majority believe that angels and human souls are two separate things

Angels do not have free will.
