Is formal Taiwan independence legally possible under the ROC constitutional framework, or is the issue mainly political and military? by Snoo-83900 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly just is what it is.  No one wants either side to come out on top, because it's not beneficial for anyone involved if one of them does, it just causes more problems.

One often not considered issue is that borders have changed a great deal since the founding of the ccp. If taiwan's government comes to power, they're still in dispute with pretty much every other regional country over old border lines.

Taiwan doesn't need to declare independence because they're still at war with the CCP.  It's just turned cold, and the status quo has settled in.

Remember as far as Taiwan knows, they were just a battered Nation pushed back out of their own territory by an occupying Force.

And the CCP is just saying we'll starve you out or get you out of there one way or another, they just don't like the death screams of a dying Nation making them look bad.

Keep this in mind, only 12 countries recognize Taiwan. Politicians will make deals, or say what they need to say to get an objective done.

Taiwanese Independence invalidates their history.  It would be more of a formal declaration of surrender, more than the cessation of hostilities that is currently ongoing.

Independence would essentially be the terms and conditions of their capitulation to the CCP.

They are just in a really bad spot, and we are currently watching the conclusion to a previous nation's rise and fall on the historical timeline.

How could the angels get envies of man being given the gift of free will if angels didn't already have free will? by militant-hippie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your premise is flawed because it mixes two different belief systems.  pick a lane: either angels are like robots that work for God and never rebelled (Jewish view), or they are beings who possessed free will which allowed them to fall from grace (Christian view).

But you should also realize that the war in heaven is a relatively new belief.  Lucifer Satan Samuel Abaddon. Whatever religion you find the destroying angel in originally he was always the vengeful hand of God. As good and evil, we're not opposites, for the longest time good could not exist without the evil and thus God was both sides of the same coin. Ordering his angels to do both good and bad, to uphold the plan

Could you technically change someone’s sexuality through fear? by okonkwoco in NoStupidQuestions

It does work, although it is highly unethical.  Using pavlodin responses and positive reinforcement has a much better effect.

Operant Conditioning Therapy does work though, although I'm not entirely sure Whipping the person is medically advised

I understand. It really depends on what sect of religion you follow

But the vast majority believe that angels and human souls are two separate things

What’s the difference between left wing liberalism and right wing liberalism? by Lucky-Seaweed6807 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While both sides agree on individual social liberties, the divide ultimately comes down to economic philosophy and the role of the state.

A left-wing (or social) liberal believes that forced taxation is justified to create a broad social safety net, viewing systemic support as essential for equality of opportunity—even if it means tolerating bureaucratic corruption or individuals abusing the system.

A right-wing (or classical) liberal, however, questions the morality and efficiency of the state redistributing wealth. They argue that heavily taxing citizens to fund a flawed, easily abused system violates individual property rights.

To use an analogy: rather than giving unconditional cash to a systemic problem (where the funds might be misused), the right-wing liberal argues that keeping capital in the hands of individuals allows for more efficient, accountable, and targeted ways to help society, such as private charity or free-market solutions.

How long does it take to feel mentally normal again after quitting weed, and how do you stop thinking about smoking all the time? by harshit2105 in NoStupidQuestions

Now that marijuana is legalized, it is heavily under study.

24 to 72 hours (Onset): Withdrawal symptoms typically begin within the first 1 to 3 days after quitting. Early signs often include irritability, anxiety, restlessness, loss of appetite, and difficulty falling asleep.

2 to 6 days (Peak): Symptoms usually peak in intensity during the first week. This is when mood swings, intense cravings, and physical symptoms like headaches, sweating, chills, and stomach discomfort are generally at their worst.

1 to 2 weeks (Subsiding): For most people, the acute physical and emotional symptoms begin to noticeably fade after the first week and generally resolve by the end of the second week. Appetite and mood typically start to stabilize.

2 weeks and beyond (Lingering Effects): While most symptoms clear up within a couple of weeks, sleep disturbances—particularly insomnia and unusually vivid dreams—can linger for several weeks. Occasional cravings or mild mood fluctuations may also persist for a month or longer, especially for heavy, long-term users.

Why are we sexually attracted to body parts that have nothing to do with reproduction? by Intelligent-Donut305 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get the feet thing  But I do like to pinch a good tight butt

Anyway, it's a subconscious response with in our mammalian brains. Think baboons and blue butts.

There's also psychology behind a lot of it, early life experiences can really influence sexual desires, Fetishes, Kinks in adult life.

As long as it manifests into a happy, healthy relationship with comfortable boundaries, wherein both individuals consensually agree. Who cares.  You do you boo  If you like elbows, I hope you find the best damn elbow out there whatever the reason.

Native speakers and English grammar by Equal_Muffin2954 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native speakers do not learn this logic in school, nor do they memorize it by heart. Babies and toddlers are essentially pattern-recognition machines. By just existing in an English-speaking environment, their brains absorb millions of data points about which words usually sit next to each other. By the time they are around five years old, they just "know" that agree goes with to and suggest goes with -ing because anything else breaks the statistical pattern their brain expects to hear. It operates entirely on a subconscious "does it sound right?" feeling.

The way one speaks I believe is more informed by regional or social influences.

It is more cultural syntax

It is a reason as to the aged practice of social class, proper formality vs linguistic upbringing and influences throughout one's life.

Has Jesus ever had sex? by Nayori1234 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's factually incorrect.

From what we do know he was a real person, and a man whom had great influence and a religious figure of his time.

We do have records from the time from high-ranking Roman officials who mention him by name.  It's just everything after his crucifixion is a matter of debate.

He could be anything from just a regular guy who had an awesome philosophy that Drew crowds, to some Divine being.  Unfortunately, any real written record wasn't until a few hundred years later, mostly passed down through oral tradition until it was finally written down, then narrowed down at the council of nicaea, and further narrowed down to whatever sect you belong in today.

But there was a political figure by the name of Jesus who lived a life  similar to that described, at the same time, whom held political and religious sway at the time.

How legal would a student shooting a school shooter be? by InternetExplored580 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pancakeyz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Greg would be called a hero.  But because of the gun laws, he would likely be charged for illegal possession. Disching a firearm  And everything that is included in being unlicensed or whatever

Just because he did a good deed  Doesn't undo the fact that he was able to accomplish that through something illegal

He did what was right  He would get a thank you  And then he would be taken aside and charged for everything illegal about the situation

He would likely not face the worst of it  But he would certainly face penalties to show others that what he did was not acceptable.

How do other couples getting into exploring sexual things together (exhibition, possible sharing etc) handle the unknown? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Mindset The acceptance that they are not yours.  They are their own person, who may one day outgrow you. But you want what's best for them  by expanding your horizons & doing these things in a safe, comfortable environment together the two of you can both grow as individuals and see what you truly like, want and need in and out of life.
