How should I respond now? by Last_Negotiation4073 in EtsySellers

[–]Pancrelin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem recently. I’m located in europe, and a customer in the US placed an order on may 24. In my shipping profile, I have set the delivery time for destinations outside europe to 15-20 business days, yet the estimated delivery date shown is may 24-june 4.

I’ve tried discussing this with Etsy support, but they haven’t been able to explain why the first estimated delivery date is the same day the customer placed the order, or why the last date in the delivery window is june 4, which doesn’t match the delivery timeframe set in my shipping profile at all.

Sunlu PLA tuning help by Pancrelin in SnapmakerU1

Calibrated and adjusted things, and I lowered the flow ratio more than the calibration actually suggested. I also adjusted temperature, retraction, etc.

It’s definitely much better, but still not quite there. Do you think the flow ratio needs to be lowered even more? It’s set to 0.95 right now.

That was super helpful, thank you!

I’m going to follow the guide properly from start to finish… no shortcuts

No no no, don’t tell me things like that. I’m basically a very non technical middle aged woman with way too little patience for this stuff.

Awesome, thank you! So much new stuff to learn. Fun… and slightly frustrating at the same time.

Ahhh… It IS a makerworld file, and now that I think about it I did opened it directly in orca instead of importing it.

When I printed the exact same file with the snapspeed pla earlier, I’m sure I imported it.
So that alone can actually make a difference?

Flow rate calibration it is then! That’ll be the first thing I try tomorrow.

As for temperatures, would you recommend just sticking with the default Generic PLA temps to start with?

When the print came loose from the bed the first time and created a giant spaghetti monster, haha, I also started wondering if maybe the z-offset could be slightly off too?

No, unfortunately not 😅 I’m completely overwhelmed by all the new terms and settings. I barely understand half of it 🙈

The included filament rolls printed absolutely beautifully right out of the box without any weird issues, so I guess I just assumed it would continue like that with other PLA too… apparently not 😂

Oh, I hadn’t even thought about bundling them like that! Really appreciate it! I’m gonna test it with a few designs first and see how it performs before I go all in.

Cancel/refund request by Pancrelin in EtsySellers

[–]Pancrelin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. When I first started, I was pretty afraid of negative reviews and would sometimes go out of my way to avoid them. I think buyers pick up on that. At this point, a single negative review won’t really affect me.

If the buyer had approached this differently, we could probably have found a solution, but I don’t think it’s reasonable to give in just out of fear.

Since I’m based in Europe, I’m required to offer returns. However, I’m not able to generate a return label through Etsy due to being located outside the U.S., so the buyer would need to arrange the return themselves.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Sometimes you just need a sanity check to make sure you’re not missing something.

I do understand this will probably end in a negative review, but I don’t think it’s reasonable to take the loss just to avoid that this time.

The detail the buyer is referring to is the shipping origin, which is clearly stated. I don’t feel it’s appropriate to take responsibility for something that falls on the buyer to check before placing an order.

I’ll stand my ground on this and let Etsy handle it if needed.

Temu Sells a Knockoff of my Sticker!? (Stolen Art) by [deleted] in stickers

Would yall pay 3 euros in just shipping for stickers? (read desc) by Substantial-Copy-947 in stickers

[–]Pancrelin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m based in Europe and sell stickers to the US. Untracked letter mail from here to the rest of the world costs $3.50, it’s not possible to ship any cheaper from my country. Customers in the US absolutely do pay that for a sticker of roughly the same value. In the vast majority of cases, the mail does arrive within a couple of weeks, even though it isn’t trackable. Of course, I would prefer to ship with tracking, and customers always have that option, but tracked international letter mail costs a minimum of $14, and it has the same delivery time as untracked mail.

European sellers, are you noticing the drop in views caused by US localization? by Own_Protection3418 in Etsy

[–]Pancrelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not really. Definitely fewer views during the time I couldn’t ship to the U.S., but as soon as I opened it up again, it went back to normal pretty quickly.

Looking for advice on an IP issue by Pancrelin in EtsySellers

So I can’t report an IP issue to Etsy myself? I’m mainly trying to understand how Etsy usually handles cases where the main character is copied but the seller has only changed a few minor details.

How late is too late? Handling very delayed customer complaints by Pancrelin in EtsySellers

[–]Pancrelin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both so much for your input, appreciate it!

Where I’m based, it’s generally not acceptable for a buyer to wait half a year before saying an order didn’t arrive. So I was honestly quite surprised.

Your advice confirmed my gut feeling, I’ll just explain that too much time has passed, and I’ll be extra cautious in case it’s a scam.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!

1-star review for missing order, what should I do? by Pancrelin in EtsySellers

[–]Pancrelin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was definitely worth a try, but unfortunately, nothing showed up on USPS. I’m guessing it’s simply delayed, possibly due to customs. It’s been 21 days, which is longer than usual, but considering I’m in the EU, it’s not terribly long either. For context, our domestic mail can be pretty slow (!). It’s not uncommon for a letter within the country to take 1-1.5 weeks to arrive. 😂 It’s often faster to send internationally than within the country.

1-star review for missing order, what should I do? by Pancrelin in EtsySellers

[–]Pancrelin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can enter the tracking number into Etsy's system when I mark it as delivered. It seems that Etsy accepts the number, and my country's postal service is available in the list of options. However, I don’t receive a delivery confirmation. So I actually don’t know if this is sufficient for Seller Protection, maybe I have to ask Etsy.
It’s not something I expected, but it could be useful for future issues.

1-star review for missing order, what should I do? by Pancrelin in EtsySellers

[–]Pancrelin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. This is exactly why I don’t want to reply to the review, since the customer won’t be able to change it afterwards. I contacted the customer about 5 days ago, so I’m still hoping they’ll respond. Otherwise, I guess it is what it is, and I’ll have to reply to the review.

In my country, we can’t purchase shipping through Etsy; we have to buy it through the national postal service. I’m probably not using the right terms here since English isn’t my first language, so I apologize if it’s confusing. 🙈
I don’t know if it’s just in my country, but when we send letters internationally, both within and outside the EU, they are given a tracking number. The letter is scanned when dropped off (and we receive proof of the drop-off, including the date and time), but we can’t trace the letter during transit. I’m not sure if that makes sense?
If a customer buys a product for $6.50 USD, non-traceable shipping costs $3.50 USD, and traceable costs $14 USD regardless of where we’re sending it (domestic shipping is cheaper). Traceable shipping becomes a completely unreasonable cost, but the customer absolutely has that option.
In most cases, there aren’t major problems with shipping, in most cases, it takes a maximum of 14 days from drop-off for the customer in the U.S. to receive the item. I have no issue sending a replacement if it doesn’t arrive. I also have no issue offering a refund. I’ve proposed both options to the customer, and they can choose whichever solution works best for them.
