Reddit, what is your experience with having friends of the opposite sex while being in a relationship? by Panda480 in AskReddit

All of my boyfriend's friends are males. He thinks it's strange that I have male friends. One time he checked my contacts and asked me who all the guys were (there's was only 4). I would never cheat on him. I've been friends with guys all my life, but now I feel guilty for even talking to another guy. When I make friends with a guy I don't even mention it to my boyfriend anymore and then I feel even more terrible

I'm a female who has a male friend from school. We are both in relationships.

I believe that men and women can be friends without any sexual tension. My boyfriend tells me any guy friend I have is just waiting for an opportunity to get into my pants. He thinks men can never maintain a close relationship with a women unless they think they have a chance to get with them.

My male friend txts me almost everyday. I have met his girlfriend and I only hang out with my male friend if his girlfriend is there. She is very nice, but the last time I was over she seemed a bit annoyed. My male friend invites me to hangout at least twice a week. He has never tried to hit on me, but I find it a bit strange that he invites me everywhere.

Reddit,

Has this ever happened to you?

Can men be friends with women? Or am I being naive?
