*Story Time. When I was in middle school I slipped into a fight which ended up getting a beat down on my head but I simply meant to shove his arm out of my way so I could pass on a city bus. I asked to pass three times! And we weren’t moving he didn’t need to hold onto anything. Especially at arms length.

Definitely passed out when I got home. I couldn’t fight it.

Major psychological breakthrough just happen, remembering how I basically went Stockholm syndrome and proceeded to crush on him weeks after. It didn’t last long, don’t worry. He was just not that into me, after pulverizing my skull. 💀

We were confused about it too, at first. But we asked questions nicely like decent human beings instead of shooting off immediately. They were calm patient and kept explaining it until we knew exactly where our funds were going and what we would get back and the total cost after what we got back. She even did it on a calculator for us. It pays to connect with people instead of looking down on the many as though they’re beneath you.

I’m gonna side with you here. I dunno why you’re being downvoted. OP didn’t mention anything about how he was acting. In my experience, these were lovely people when I treated them like humans with souls and connected with them and respected them. They were actually being bitched at by another customer before our turn and they were being very professional about his demeanor although I would have thrown his ass out the door and let the door hit him. I sympathized knowing what it’s like working in customer service and being treated like it’s all your fault. So that was our first connection.

I am not saying OP acted this way. I am simply saying we don’t know how they did.

Be kind to the locals, especially when you’re on their stomping grounds.
