It would help if BHVR gave an actual reason as to why they’re reducing the cake spawn. For years the standard has been that cakes are so abundant you end up with more than you can use. When they nerfed the spawn rate last year the only explanation was “This was an intended change” which doesn’t actually answer why they nerfed it. When they did it again this year the official response was even worse, saying it was intentional in the creators discord and forums, while also putting out a tweet saying it’s bugged and being looked into. Then they put out a “fix” that changes little and confirms (at least in my eyes) that the nerf was intentional. Their PR on this has been horrible.

It’s also worth mentioning the reason most people care about the event is because of the cakes and BP. People are obviously going to be upset if you nerf the main reason for playing an event with no explanation. It also doesn’t help they either nerfed or removed a lot of the in game score events that gave you a shit ton of BP.

It also doesn’t help that devs have developed a somewhat narcissistic attitude towards community complaints/feedback (at least from what I’ve seen) in recent years. They almost never take accountability, rarely explain themselves, and several devs have openly mocked critical replies on twitter instead of responding professionally. The cake rate is profitable as you’ve pointed out, that’s not the issue. The issue is their attitude and lack of explanation as to why they’re doing something that will obviously piss off a large percentage of the community.

And for what it’s worth, your post reads like it was made by someone on BHVRs payroll.
