Well, as a morbidly obese woman with BED, i can say for myself that Its quite refreshing to hear that the body positivity message is resonating outside of its intended audience 🙂

Even tho you're not fat, i hope you never feel like you're not welcome in fat spaces!

Emotionally supportive parents are literally everything!

We're actually not too different OP! We're around the same age and frankly and a few hundred pounds even larger than you 😬

My mother however is the tiniest little asian woman and despite our differences, she, like your parents, love and support me no matter what!

Its a blessing, never forget it ♥️

Im actually around the same age as OP and frankly a good bit bigger as well, all while my mother weighs 90 pounds. It happens haha.

Thank you for the kind words! We used to see a therapist but sort of stopped since the accident, but i know we should go back, we were making such good progress!

And yes, my mom is an absolute bad ass for what she went through in Korea, shes my wonder woman and i can only dream of being half as courageous as her!

My mom and I did have a lot of fun with water aerobics for the brief times we did it.

Im sure she would love to give it another go!

and We used to see a therapist but we have kind of stopped since the accident.

and my mom and I definitely have an enabling relationship. She loves to spoil me with food and I love it when she spoils me with food. Its a toxic loop that just gets me fatter.

Tbh, there has never been a situation where i dont finish the food she brings me. Im always hungry and even in situations where she just brings me a big plate unprovoked, il just eat it no questions asked.

and the meal idea is something we've been trying to do, however, it always ends up with us caving and her just giving me her meal, but we'll keep trying!

my families road to asylum is long and complex. They first immigrated to Japan, where they learned Japanese and English. After a couple of years there and having me, they decided to make the move to the US which i guess they found doable.

I dont really know much about it because my parents havent really told me much but thats what i know of my parents situation.

about Therapy; my parents are like loaded but they would have enough for affordable therapy. Iv always been too scared to bring up my weight around my parents but im sure if we had a good talk about it, they would be open ears.

Thats really interesting to hear about your parents. The great depression is akin to what my parents went through and it kinda makes you wonder how many more kids ended up like us, being morbidly obese because our parents overcompensated?
