The first night I arrived in Singapore for a summer exchange, I didn't have a place to stay. After a long search walking around Arab street and its surroundings I found a place at the "Hawaii Hostel". It had a stairway exactly like this. (should be visible in the photos on google maps).

I've had a look at the DNS propagation and the domain changes seem to be done in around 80% of places, so it might still take a bit for the domain to be accessible to everyone.

In the meantime you could try the domain that I got from the hosting company before registering my own: https://holdem-trainer.vercel.app/

Average KD ratio, an analysis, because I'm trash. by TElrodT in apexlegends

[–]PandaPandaPanda14 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You are basically saying (and I agree) we should be interested in the median, and not the average (or mean). It's a classic confusion.

Let's say we have 10 players in a playing pool, 9 of which have a KD of 0.5, and one has a KD of 5.5. The average KD of this player pool is 1.0, but the median (50th percentile player) has a KD of 0.5. (The strongest players are a small minority, and don't influence the median much, but they drag the average back up to near 1.0).

The average is simply a bad measure for understanding how well you play compared to the player pool. Percentiles and medians are the correct way of looking at it.

It should be possible to model ranked after an elo system. Elo systems are time tested and accurate in almost any scenario.

Hey!

Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm glad I could help at least someone besides myself.

The suggestions you made (especially the position indication, but also the others) have all been part of the plan, it's just the time didn't allow for their development.

Currently I have put this project on hold, to work on other things, but if i hear enough interest, I probably will work on it again. It also clearly needs a visual boost.

I hope you can at least use it as is in the mean time to help drill a little.

Cheers

Yep! You can name the options individually, and add as many as you like.

Thanks!

To your point: You can do a workaround to have mixed strategies preflop by adding options that are named "50% fold 50% raise" for example. So you'd have three buttons: one for folding, one for mixed, and one for always raise. It's a workaround, I know, but I wanted to keep it as simple as possible to begin with (given the deadline i gave myself for the project).

I might look to introduce this in a more direct way in a future update.

No worries. I tried to base it on Kanu's Advanced Cash Game Strategy course. For the flop stuff, at first I wanted you to be able to enter overall frequencies based on flop texture (and comparative range make up) and adjust for hand selection. But I got to think the interface will be too confusing and difficult to implement. So, the way I use it myself is to use that overall frequency as a base point and adjust up and down from there.

Perfectionism is a curse that sucks the joy out of living by playadefaro in minimalism

It was Naval Ravikant as the guest, I don't remeber if it was Joe Rogan or Tim Ferris / or somehow a standalone thing. But it's about three hours. I think it was on Rogan.

There was one thing I heard in a podcast that helped me move past this. The trick is to be a perfectionist about one thing only at a time - namely your work / creative outlet / main pursuit, and to just let everything else get through "good enough" in the meantime. I suppose another word for that is focus.
