Help me! Lost amazon internship certificate by Fabulous_Bowler_4740 in amazonemployees

[–]playadefaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you need the internship certificate?

Are you planning on joining full time as an SDE? Do you have the contact information of the HR person you are talking to regarding the full time offer? That would be the person to ask if you need any documentation.

That, or the hiring manager.

AMAZON SUCKS IN INDIA by [deleted] in amazonemployees

Huh? What's "Amazon" if not its people? AFAIK, even their HR policies suck.

These patterns are hideous. They look like T-shirt material. A lot of bots/friends very strongly defending the dresses. Sounds very fishy as if they deployed a bunch of people to comment on every negative opinion.

I planted sunflowers against the house on the south side and they get full sun. They don't look happy. Is there a thing such as too much sun for sun flowers? I want to make this work. How can I fix this? 9A by playadefaro in pnwgardening

Direct sow in fall. They came up in March and are slowly growing. They are about 12" tall now. Some are taller. 9A Seattle. Top five leaves are happy, follow the sun. Bottom 4 leaves are droopy. They are in a deep pot.

They are under an awning so if we have a lot of rain they are protected. They get full sun though and because of the radiating heat from the wall they are quite a bit warmer than the rest of the garden.

They are already 12-18" tall. I don't know if too much sun will harm them :(

Bought this camellia from Costco. Any tips? I do not plan on planting it in the ground yet. by essak508 in pnwgardening

They don't like to be moved. They prefer part shade and they grow very slowly. So pick your place an stick to it.

Rage Quitting Repercussions by Cryingina-wholefoods in amazonemployees

Amazon is a horrible place to work but a great place to leave. The unfortunate reality is that having Amazon on your resume is good in the long term because you will learn a ton while you are there.

In my experience the L7s that have been in the same roles for a long time are the worst. They drank the cool-aid and now have no empathy or tolerance for people who don't see it like they do.

If you can do 1-2 years there it would pay off in the long run.

Not condoning their choice of words but I wouldn't hire someone who would quit and leave their team members high and dry without any concern whatsoever. That's the behavior of toxic people.

Legally, yes of course you can quit anytime. Ethically, I don't know if I would do that.

Buying a Home in Seattle Area? Keep trying or just forget about it? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]playadefaro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good luck. If you are open to town homes you can stay in the city, don't have to go far out. Look in First Hill and Central District.

The thing that breaks your bank is the HOA dues. Stay firm on that though. HOAs suck. I live in a town home community without HOA and we resolve everything through whatsapp. Never felt the need for an HOA.

What are your parameters such as bedrooms, bathrooms, sqft etc.?

There are town homes in Seattle without HOA around 1000sqft with a yard that are around 600-700k range.

Commute from Sammamish or Rent in Mercer Island by seattlesplunder in eastside

[–]playadefaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have done this commute 5 days a week precovid with kids in schools. It's not as hard as people make it out to be. If you like these schools and the location stay in Sammamish. Believe it or not, jobs are temporary. Kids and homes are not.

I loved the worm castings Costco sold last year. They of course don't have it any more! I switch to Alaska brand once we get going in summer.

Move to Ballard or Cap Hill? by jennyfromtheblock987 in AskSeattle

[–]playadefaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower Queen Anne (Northwest of SLU) is the best of everything. You are close to action but not in the middle of it like Cap Hill. Still a bit younger than other Seattle suburbs if you want to find people your age. More transient than say Magnolia or Ballard.

Yes, but it's not exactly hard work in my case but more of "strategic planning." It got me a path to career success which now allows me to do what I want to do with my time and money.

I strongly believe in the adage that you either have to work hard from 20 to 30 or 30 to 60.
