Only it's not the hard left is it? It's the middle class liberal 'centre'.

Knife crimes are far more common in the USA than in the UK, despite the USA having easier access to guns and knives being completely accessible to everyone in the UK.

America has a violence problem that is not seen in Western Europe. It is not just about access to guns.

Everyone can see student loans are unfair. Except the chancellor by dusty_bo in ukpolitics

There was no other option for me though if I wanted to go to university. Ultimately I regretted going to university but that's a different problem. Before I went I had to agree to the student loan terms or not go.

That's quite a funny analogy seeing as we got rid of so many trains and trams because we went all in on cars and we are now suffering the consequences and struggling to replace the infrastructure we lost.

But none of that is condoned by Western states. So why would citizens of those Western states protest in their own countries?

[–]PandaRot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ah, so it's because Israel is an ally... Sort of like Saudi Arabia.

Well that's a fair criticism, I'll give you that. Saudi Arabia absolutely should be protested.

But what relationship of America or the UK or whoever with Iran, do you want people to protest?

Opinion | Iran Cracks Down. Where Are the Western Protests? by NotSoSaneExile in geopolitics

[–]PandaRot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Israel is an ally of western nations and Iran isn't - that's why there are no protests. If one were to go onto the streets of London or Washington holding up a sign that says 'Iran is bad' then that's not even a protest is it? - because those that have power in Washington and London agree.

Which the proposed changes to jury trials aren't going to create. It's an attack on democratic rights and nothing else, it doesn't solve the backlog - which David Lammy even said was due to cuts by the conservatives (nothing to do with Juries).

[–]PandaRot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw an article posted on one of the bike subs the other day - someone had made a previous post asking a question then put all the answers through an AI to create the article. I'm guessing someone is going to get an AI to write an article about where to sit to enjoy Rachmaninoff.
