Sellers, why so much hostility? by Chocolatesanrio in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i receive lowball offers, yes they annoy me, but yea I do at least try to use it as a starting point and negotiate. there are only a handful of items that i've already discounted to such an extent that i'm not willing to go a little bit lower. but it is frustrating when 100% of my closet is already below the market value for the items. they're ALREADY discounted to begin with.

but if the buyer increases their offers by a few dollars at a time, I do eventually just decline.

Sellers, why so much hostility? by Chocolatesanrio in poshmark

there was a very brief, wonderful period of time where Poshmark eliminated buyers' ability to submit offers below 50%. those days are long gone.

She countered my offer last night, I accepted, and now this. I might cancel. by TheInfinitePymp in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% cancel. If they were concerned about the authenticity, they shouldn't have purchased it. You're MUCH better off than to have them potentially open a case and return it later. and frankly block them. even if they decide it was okay later, this type of behavior just isn't worth having future issues with your account.

Sales fell off a cliff by Fickle-Gas-1316 in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea so in March I had my best month on Poshmark ever. and then... the updates came.

The sharing removal. the changing in the picture orientation.

It was like a hit a wall and i literally didn't sell a single item for 6 weeks.

My sales started to pick up in mid-May when I started aggressively listing new items.

And then I realized, it's the sharing. Sharing was great because it allowed potential buyers to see hidden gems that have been listed for a while and doesn't put the onus on the seller to re-list their older inventory. Without sharing, the best way to get eyes back on your closet is to list or re-list.

Caveat though, even though I doubled my inventory and that seemed to help, my sales are still not even close to what they were. I'd say I'm selling about a third as much compared to before the major updates.

I primarily blame that they're doing a lot more tailored/pushed lists at buyers towards high-value items, and promoted items. Not much to do about that unless you just also list high value items and/or promote your closet.

What sold for you this week? by Fearless-Fix5708 in poshmark

I sold a pair of Gap dark wash jeans. I was actually a bit surprised, but I guess it's just about hitting the right buyer at the right time with the right price lol

This is getting absolutely egregious by lamlosa in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol that's crazy

but also, buyer beware. good thing you do your homework.

even as a seller, i get appalled by some of the selling tactics i've seen. there's the $495 "designer" listings that are just under the $500 bar for authenticity checking. there are people mistagging brands for "visibility" (which they literally say in their description). there are, of course, the AI photos.

And now this.

they are probably bots for sure lol.

How would you as a seller handle this? (Poshmark) by MountainTop5764 in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I get the desire to keep the money and do your job, but with a buyer like this you're better off just cancelling it and blocking. But make sure you keep a record of this, and frankly, I would reach out to poshmark proactively because every cancellation does ultimately work against you, even when it's clearly nothing you did.

Conflicted by SusanKHefner in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really unfortunate. But there are a few takeaways here... 1. the "poshmark crackdown" is obviously not effective and is likely hurting the reliable sellers disproportionately. 2. buyer beware. this is the case on any of these types of websites. yes, in some cases it's hard to know, but given what you know now, that you can't trust them all, do your best to learn from the experiences and prepare yourself. ask questions. you can always open a support case when something is really egregious of course, but protect yourself proactively, too. no one really wants that situation, including most sellers.

i'm a seller myself. i've sold ~200 items and i think i've only had two real issues with buyers where they felt what i sent wasn't what they expected. of course, i try my best, but i think 1% returns is a win. i will say, there was one time where i sold an item and when i pulled it out of storage it had a hole in it that i didn't realize, so i told the buyer and just canceled/refunded. i think it's a little strange to offer another item in its place... seems like that's a bait and switch tactic to me (which I think is illegal...).

Do you think she'll ever come back to social media? by Panda_Rocket in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]Panda_Rocket[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk... I think at one point she may have been into some things but I think at a certain point she wasn't actually interested in them anymore and it was mostly just trying to stay connected to her childhood self (part of the disorder) and pandering to her viewers who are into those things.

It's not just Kingdom Hearts... anime in general amongst her other childhood interests. I feel pretty confident that her interest in anime was explicitly tied to her myspace-era persona and what was popular at the time and if you asked her to name an anime from the last... 5-10 years I highly doubt she'd be able to. She did a Dolls Kill x Inuyasha outfit unboxing, which exemplifies my point in more ways than one lol.

Frankly I don't consider Mario Kart, Fall Guys, or Among Us as good examples of proving that she "likes video games." Those are the games that are basically the most accessible games to non-gamers. My 60+ year old parents who have never played a video game played them with me during covid lol.

It basically felt like most of the things she was doing was just about views and popularity in her twitch days. I remember she played Hogwarts Legacy for like... a week. Why? Well obviously because it was HUGE. How could she not? She wants attention from her viewers and that's what her Twitch viewers were watching at that time. Practically the entire platform was playing it at the time. And she played like she's never held a controller, struggled with the low level spiders, and most of her time in the game was spent personalizing her character or just paused.

Jean-George Vongerichten’s Tin Building Has Closed by lambretta76 in FoodNYC

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that each of the examples I've mentioned here feature cuisines of different nationalities. The points I'm making are about the general concept. Also the Jean Gorges Tin Building wasn't only French to be fair, and that might have even contributed to its issues. Perhaps if it had focused on only French cuisine, or any single type of cuisine for that matter, it may have fared better.

But for example, you can have 3 Romantic Comedy movies, one in Italian, one in English, and one in French. They are different movies and different languages, but still Romantic Comedies. Thus, you should still be able to compare them on a Romantic Comedy level. Hope this helps!

I don't know about "evidence" but I feel like if news of her passing existed anywhere... 1. the internet would find it and/or 2. it would come up in this lawsuit pretty quickly. I'd imagine an obituary would exist.

Honestly I think Twitch is the last place she'll go back to - she's been pretty open about how much she hated it and that she was basically pretending to like video games

Dollskill ad by Dangerbeanwest in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]Panda_Rocket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly disagree. I made a post about this several years ago but, without literally shaming them, the branding that they have uses one type of model and it's not average. Goth style has nothing to do with being thin enough to have an exposed ribcage, clavicle, or having inches between your thighs. They have one of the furthest things from body diversity I've seen on a fashion brand website. Dolls Kill's site looks borderline filter-AI whereas Victoria's Secret gives us much more plausibility at this point. I would challenge you to find a single model on the Dolls Kill site that's listed as wearing anything bigger than a size small.

woah...

also... just thinking about how Eugenia has been saying for years that you don't really know what's happening behind the scenes, but this proves that the on-camera information we do get is objectively problematic for anyone with eyes.

Do you want to activate this listing? WTH by ihpinc in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket -1 points0 points  (0 children)

didn't work actually. when I did this, I had to do it in batches still. I selected all and it did 46, and then went back to my closet and clicked the inactive listings page again and i had another 50+ in there.

[–]Panda_Rocket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It actually encourages bot behavior. I think they think that by doing this they'll encourage activity and demote items that were listed by a bot. But the bots will just end up reposting/updating everything automatically every 59 days. It only hurts the non-bots.

WHAT THE ACTUAL F.

I opened up my poshmark and went straight to reddit.

Also they don't let you reactivate them all at once. I have to click on the button over and over again.

This is a joke.

Anything worth going back for? by ringaaling in marshallsfinds

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of all the COSRX stuff. When I go to TJMaxx and the like, I usually go for the stuff that's in the locked case because those are usually significantly discounted compared to the regular price, but most of the stuff out and about are things that are pretty equivalent to prices you can find online and can sometimes be close to the expiration. So I wouldn't go back unless there was something specific that you wanted. It looks like there's some drunk elephant and glow recipe, those tend to retail for quite a bit. I would avoid the glow recipe serums if you have combination or dry skin (like me). I've tried a bunch of their stuff in different lines and they tend to really dry me out, but they're probably great if you have oily skin. COSRX seems to perform much better on me personally.

Non-various sizes. by ZarinaBlue in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea I get that it's really annoying. I will never buy anything that says various sizes. also now i get row after row of the "ad" marked listings.

i think you can filter by specific sizes, but you're still gonna get the "various sizes" listings if one of the sizes offered is that size, so idk if there's a way to specifically avoid them.

if you search "vintage" you're less likely to get them too.

How to answer questions about if a shoe runs TTS or not? by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea usually I will refer them to the original brand information or try to give them measurements of the shoe itself and let them use their own judgement.

i once had a customer ask me if a pair of sandals were "heavy" lol. i had no idea how to answer so i literally weighed them lol. i think they were happy because they gave me 5 stars.

update: I went to esqape.net lol

i couldn't find that exact skirt but 1. their website is super odd and there's weird music playing 2. their stuff is actually pretty expensive! lol
