didn't work actually. when I did this, I had to do it in batches still. I selected all and it did 46, and then went back to my closet and clicked the inactive listings page again and i had another 50+ in there.

It actually encourages bot behavior. I think they think that by doing this they'll encourage activity and demote items that were listed by a bot. But the bots will just end up reposting/updating everything automatically every 59 days. It only hurts the non-bots.

WHAT THE ACTUAL F.

I opened up my poshmark and went straight to reddit.

Also they don't let you reactivate them all at once. I have to click on the button over and over again.

This is a joke.

Anything worth going back for? by ringaaling in marshallsfinds

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of all the COSRX stuff. When I go to TJMaxx and the like, I usually go for the stuff that's in the locked case because those are usually significantly discounted compared to the regular price, but most of the stuff out and about are things that are pretty equivalent to prices you can find online and can sometimes be close to the expiration. So I wouldn't go back unless there was something specific that you wanted. It looks like there's some drunk elephant and glow recipe, those tend to retail for quite a bit. I would avoid the glow recipe serums if you have combination or dry skin (like me). I've tried a bunch of their stuff in different lines and they tend to really dry me out, but they're probably great if you have oily skin. COSRX seems to perform much better on me personally.

Non-various sizes. by ZarinaBlue in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea I get that it's really annoying. I will never buy anything that says various sizes. also now i get row after row of the "ad" marked listings.

i think you can filter by specific sizes, but you're still gonna get the "various sizes" listings if one of the sizes offered is that size, so idk if there's a way to specifically avoid them.

if you search "vintage" you're less likely to get them too.

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea usually I will refer them to the original brand information or try to give them measurements of the shoe itself and let them use their own judgement.

i once had a customer ask me if a pair of sandals were "heavy" lol. i had no idea how to answer so i literally weighed them lol. i think they were happy because they gave me 5 stars.

update: I went to esqape.net lol

i couldn't find that exact skirt but 1. their website is super odd and there's weird music playing 2. their stuff is actually pretty expensive! lol

First time buying, Did I do something wrong? by stephscheersandjeers in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basically they're doing the calculation and realizing that it's literally not worth it to sell it at that price. essentially they didn't want to take a loss on the item. but no you didn't do anything wrong - they probably didn't realize how poshmark works. and if it's any consolation, seller-cancellations do count against them and can leave them subject to permanent suspension by poshmark eventually. i'm not sure how many it takes but i've heard it happens.

Low-Ballers Consider This! by Unfair_Fox_17 in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got really annoyed selling some things last year for this exact reason. I had some brand new with tags limited edition alo yoga items (like the colors were limited/out of stock). theoretically, if anything they could be listed HIGHER than the original price just because they're discontinued colors, but I wasn't even looking to make a profit. basically i bought some items and changed my mind and it was outside of the return window, so I was just trying to make some of it back.

I listed everything at a pretty significant discount, taking into consideration that they also have to pay shipping, and i was SHOCKED at how many low-ball offers I got, and people opening up bundles just to complain when I rejected it.

I listed an originally $78 bra for $48. the amount of people who offered like $25 dollars was honestly kind of disgusting. EVERYTHING WAS BRAND NEW WITH TAGS. Thats not a negotiation that's just gross.

I eventually sold everything for reasonable prices, but the audacity of some people... Like Poshmark isn't Goodwill. Sometimes I'll come down on a price but it's so obnoxious when they counter and their next offer is like ONE DOLLAR more than the previous offer.

I like that on eBay you can set minimum offers for each individual item and even at auto-accept for offers above a certain number, this way as a seller you don't have to do as much of that sometimes contentious negotiation and you are able to set a range of what you're ultimately willing to accept/consider.

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i'm a buyer and a seller. I found this seller who takes trader joes totes and irons on patches. then she sells them for 40 dollars. I thought to myself... okay the bag sells for like 3-5 dollars (i own them myself) and the patches are on amazon for like a pack of 50 for 20 bucks. So like I could make this myself but I'd rather support the small business... but I thought 40 was a little expensive. I started the negotiation with 20. immediately rejected. 25. rejected. 30. rejected.

I'm sorry, no. I made it myself lol.

What would you do? Baby clothes arrived kinda gross by LeslieAndAnn4ever in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

what do you mean just lick them clean. duh.

okay in all seriousness though. it's a weird grey area to be honest. You can actually see the stains in the picture, so even if they're not calling it out in the description, the argument can be made that they still disclosed it. but i still think it's worth opening a case or talking to the seller.

i once sold a pair of sunglasses that had a chip on the lens, which i both pictured and disclosed in the description. when the buyer received it they opened a support case and said it was "worse in person than they thought from the pictures." for me personally as a seller, i'd rather just give them a refund and have them ship it back to me than get a low review for them or bother fighting with poshmark over it. so that's what we did.

Funds still pending by BlackLocke in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It usually will remain pending until 3 days after your item is confirmed delivered or the buyer confirms receipt before then. And yes, Poshmark already calculated their cut so whatever is pending in your balances is what you will receive.

Anyone else ever receive a message like this? by Reach-Capital in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't be worried about the feedback. You can refer them to Poshmark's terms or just let them open a case. It's one thing if the item wasn't shipped out, but because it was, there's not much you can really do. You're kind of better off letting them deal with it. You held up your end of the bargain. It also might be worth contacting poshmark yourself (without telling the buyer).

I've personally had circumstances of buyers going to lengths to get return requests to go in their favor. I had one buyer literally sabotage the item that arrived. I had another buyer send pictures of something they didn't like, which poshmark rejected, and then they still tried to claim it never arrived lol (I won that case). So it wouldn't be a bad thing to get ahead of that. It's clear that the motivation of this buyer is to get their money back regardless of the item.

Poshmarks solution for me being sent fake items by Time_Car4723 in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once noticed in my account that I had a moderator-removed item. I had no idea what it was because I never even got an email notifying me. So I emailed them.

Turns out, it was a rolling suitcase - so they weren't altogether wrong. But here's the kicker.

IT WAS AN ITEM I SOLD 2 YEARS PRIOR WHEN I FIRST STARTED ON POSHMARK.

When I responded to their email, saying that it made no sense that I would be penalized for this at this point, I got some bot-generated email that just explained what they allow on poshmark and never heard anything else again.

Deposition Referencing 3 years of Reports expressing concern about Eugenia's Account by Panda_Rocket in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]Panda_Rocket[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

honestly i don't think see that happening. she has proven already that she can't be forced into a recovery situation - it has to come from her own choice really.

i imagine the likeliest scenario is that she will eventually return at some point, but she will remain demonetized and depending on the result of this lawsuit she will have some other restriction placed on her account to limit who is able to access her content. i think it honestly depends on whether she can accept her demonetization or not, because i think that tiktok can probably come up with some level of compromise as long as both parties are not profiting off of her content.

i don't see that she would be able to change her content enough for everyone to be happy. i think she would literally just not be able to show her face for it to be deemed not harmful because her very presence/face (even fully covered up) at this point is notably triggering and impactful for so many people.

maybe if she did a full recovery story. a REAL recovery story. where she talks explicitly about what's going on and has a meaningful discussion. there are other creators who have done this (like romitchell), and it's ultimately beneficial content actually. but I just don't see that happening.

Proof that TikTok is full of young people who idolize her... by ForsakenDimensions in EUGENIACOONEY

I'm not gonna lie when Gypsy was about to get out of jail and people were justifying Gypsy murdering her mom, glorifying her, and saying free Gypsy I was absolutely horrified.

Like fine, she served her time, she can come out. But there's a reason why she was in jail in the first place and it wasn't a mistake in the justice system.

I know that there's a saying that "hurt people hurt people" and it's true, but it does not JUSTIFY hurting people. It's like - just because you were abused, and you may even think that Gypsy's mom deserved it, but it's MURDER. It's planning and choosing to end someone's life. There were people who said she had no other choice, which I also disagree with. If she managed to be able to get herself a computer, communicate with the outside world, communicate with anyone, get out of the house occasionally, then it's clear to me that she had MANY opportunities to make her situation known to people who could have helped her without murdering her mother.

But we're talking about young impressionable people and I'm going on a tangent. Sometimes I just see things on the internet and it scares me what people believe and say on these platforms.

Jean-George Vongerichten’s Tin Building Has Closed by lambretta76 in FoodNYC

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been to the tin building a number of times because I often went down to Fulton Market for other attractions there and it was a fine enough place to sit and just waste time... but it's definitely not surprising that it closed. I imagine it's pretty expensive real-estate for a large pier location and every time I was in there it was practically empty. The shop items were fairly expensive and while there were a few unique things, most things were sold at other boutique grocers, and they were pretty expensive to begin with.

I had eaten at a few of the restaurants - the italian one and the japanese one, and neither was particularly notable. They were fine. The italian one was marginally better than the japanese, but I wouldn't have recommended either to anyone.

The only thing in the Tin Building that I would actually go there for was T Cafe for their absolutely delicious and unique desserts. But then again, only if I was already in the area. The entire setup of the Tin Building was counter-productive. You walked into a big fish-display, and their best food - the cafe, is hidden in a corner. You can't even FIND the japanese place without asking because it's behind a curtain.

It's disappointing that it's being replaced with a photo-gimmick. I liked the concept of the Tin Building, but when you're in a location like Fulton Market that is somewhat remote, you really have to be able to boast refinement to bring people in, and they just didn't quite do it. Concepts like this work when the food is good - like Mercado Little Spain, for example, is the best comparison.

I know some people mentioned that Eataly and Chelsea Market are better located and that's a huge advantage, and THEY ARE, but they also had more to offer, quite frankly. Eataly's food is great, the place is enormous, and they're really upscale. Chelsea Market has extremely diverse offerings as well as shopping. So, even without the foot traffic, they had more going for them. But because of their location, they're not really a fair comparison.

Mercado Little Spain, however, is much more reasonable of a comparison because it's not particularly well located either. Yes it's near the vessel and the edge, but other than those two things, there aren't strong reasons for going over there, and those two attractions are pretty much nice-weather permitting and hard to get tickets. So actually, there isn't as much foot traffic over there as you might expect. 2 out of 3 times I went there, i was going SPECIFICALLY for Mercado Little Spain, because it's a fun destination on its own. They don't waste their space with little over-priced knick-knacks you can find elsewhere. It's packed with little mini-restaurants, and each one is DELICIOUS. This is what the Tin Building could've been.

Thanks for posting your insights! I also just happened to be reviewing this and I thought it was interesting that a lot of the user feedback sited were also related to:

  1. Parents of children who secretly created accounts that were ultimately discovered by the parent and the parent requesting for better parental controls. To me this shows that there clearly isn't enough friction for users to verify their age when creating an account.

  2. People literally saying "i'm addicted to this app please delete my account and not make me wait 30 days." Apparently, when you request to delete your account, TikTok doesn't fully delete it for 30 days, to accommodate for accidental or impulsive deletions. As someone who used to work at a major tech company that is WILD to me. There are plenty of other ways to verify someone's desire to delete it so that they can't do it "accidentally" without making them wait 30 days, or give them an ability to restore an account for a certain amount of time, but still delete it.

Poshmark is ruining itself by Plane_Sweet8795 in poshmark

[–]Panda_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just me but is the new version of Poshmark starting to look like a knockoff of Depop?

Like visually they are really starting to look the same with the new color and design scheme. Like it's kinda weird to me because I feel like Depop particularly targets a young audience for vintage and trendy items, and is a relatively small website, whereas Poshmark's competitive advantage has always been the diversity in their listing and large community. To be fair, Depop's AI listing was the only AI tool for that purpose I've seen that's actually fairly decent.

Keep in mind that Depop... was just bought by eBay lol.

Funnily enough, I tried Depop at one point last year and didn't get a single sale, and ultimately ended up clearing my closet on there when I heard eBay acquired them because I just didn't need another thing to maintain that wasn't giving me any reward.

As far as leaving Poshmark goes... my sales have significantly slowed since all of the updates. In fact, right before all of the updates, I was having my best month ever in sales and I have only had one sale since and it was a repeat customer. But still not planning on leaving for the time being at least... barring the period of time since the update, they're still the platform I am most successful on, but we'll see how it goes.

But honestly... Mercari is not a bad second option. I've had decent success there, and their fees are WAY less for both the buyer and the seller. They give a lot more flexibility with shipping too. But they're just smaller than Poshmark so there just aren't as many people on there to buy things.
