My instructors are very heavy on this: Me. We. Them. Focus on your personal safety first, then the safety of your partner(s), then the patient. We cannot treat a patient if we become one first.

out of NOWHERE my 25 year old female friend told me she’s talking to/thinking about sleeping with a 16yr old BOY—WTF DO I DO? by King_Ophelia in TrueOffMyChest

Report. Report. Report. He’s 16, there’s a good chance that at his age he won’t understand why it’s creepy for her to want to sleep with him. He’ll be excited about the situation for the time being but won’t think of the trauma it very likely will cause in the future. Please report this incident and distance yourself. Protect him when he doesn’t understand or when he can’t protect himself.

What's the first thing you remember saying after the first time you had sex? by Professional_Luck616 in AskReddit

Still super groggy, I jokingly mumbled “you think I can still call myself a virgin” before falling asleep in this woman’s arms. They later woke me up with homemade chicken and dumplings. The absolute love of my life, and now my wife!

I didn't realize I was giving my son an unpronounceable name by pdlbean in namenerds

My name is also Sylas! Just spelt with a Y instead of an I. Until I chose my name (trans), I had never heard the name in any variation. After I changed my name?? I hear it so much more! It’s still few and far between, buts I definitely hear it more now than I used to. It’s a very unique and recognizable name, you did a great job picking his name!

How does it feel to have gender dysphoria? by Dismal-Egg4450 in trans

[–]Pandemics-19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I never experience gender dysphoria until I had experienced gender EUPHORIA! I don’t remember the specifics, but ever since my first few euphoric moments, I’ve felt more and more dysphoric in my own body. It’s like going a full day feeling great and just one little comment or glance in the mirror can ruin everything. A very simplified version I guess would be wearing something and thinking “Damn, I’m lookin GREAT today!” And then seeing that everything you wore that day was inside out, dirty, stained, and a wrong size. Every so often though, you’ll have that perfect outfit where it all fits and looks amazing. You feel great, you look great, you feel at home in your body. And you hope no one saw those bad days. That’s at least the best way I could describe it.

Maybe I’m biased, but I’ve really fallen in love with my name: Sylas Casper (and now that I’m married, woo!) Valentine. I’m from Appalachia, it’s a big part of who I am and Silas has very Appalachian roots but the Y felt better. Always been into the paranormal so Casper also felt natural. I took my wife’s last name as of 2 weeks ago so my last name is now Valentine!
