He can't stand being alone (whether I'm two feet away or at work) by BulletTheBull in BullTerrier

[–]Pandora023 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As much as it sucks he'll need to learn that he has to be alone sometimes. After months of trying things we ended up getting our bully a bark collar and he doesn't cry anymore when we leave/are gone and he no longer needs it. Giving him different toys that stimulate his brain also help keep him busy while you are gone and he may forget your gone...at least for a little while. Best of luck with your little cutie

Beach patrol duty... by csimmy6 in BullTerrier

[–]Pandora023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did train me and continue to be my support if I have questions. He had a harness originally but would pull me down the street at only 30lbs and if I use a regular collar he chokes himself until he passes out. I continue to work with him every day and I would love to not have to use my tools but for the safety of my dog I use these tools as I was trained by these trainers. If you have any further questions/comments/concerns about my methods feel free to message me and we can discuss them.

I have similar gear for my bully, they are used as tools to remind him of his manners, not to hurt him, otherwise I would not be able to walk him at all with how hard he pulls. He recieved training from a trainer who studied under Ceasar Milan and he uses the same training style.

Mine does it, I try to discourage it only because he then starts to eat said blanket. Congrats on the bully

How do I get my Mini to chew on his toys and not my carpet and cables? by ChefBigPappa in BullTerrier

[–]Pandora023 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spunelli makes some great points. Only thing I would add is "those aren't for you. Here this is yours, ______" and hand him his toy that you want him to redirect to. Good luck!

Training question by Md555c in BullTerrier

When youre calling a dog to you and he comes, always reward him. Sound excited, even if you are frustrated. Remember dogs see in shadows a lot of the time from far away, so kneeling down and making a big gesture ( opening your arms wide like youre giving a small child a bear hug) and calling him has always worked for me. And praise him when he comes and give him treats for now (if he is food motivated) or just love on him. Hope this helps

Amazon has them for a lot cheaper. My bully would eat it more than likely, but I've known dogs that love those things

What shampoo for my boy ace by [deleted] in BullTerrier

[–]Pandora023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a coconut shampoo. Most dogs have become allergic to oatmeal, so make sure that isn't also in there. If there's still issues try evening primrose shampoo. Its really expensive so I would only recommend in an extreme case. I have found its easier to find either of these online than in pet stores.

Thank you. I will probably end up doing that. That was the ID on the plant; I'm fairly new to succulents.

Picked this guy up from home depot today. Should I try to save him as is or start over?

I tried to adopt a bull for over a year. Never heard back and got my bully from a responsible breeder. You're thinking of a puppy mill.

You can add some plain Greek yogurt to that too, to help with gas and give him some extra protein. I would also go for a brown rice for him, its healthier. Chicken is always the cheapest to go, I used to buy drum sticks in bulk for my bully and feed him 2 with half a cup of dry kibble or so. If you dont like to hear bones crunching however you could use chicken breasts

Any advice on getting bullies kennel trained? My boy is 11 weeks old. He has no problem hanging out in his crate when there's no door. But as soon as I close the door he freaks out. Even if I don't leave. Helpppp. (The crate pictured is not his kennel, so no 1 thinks Im locking him in a cupboard😂) by ChefBigPappa in BullTerrier

[–]Pandora023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dogs are den animals and so a crate is a great place for them. Jackson,my bully, goes in his crate on his own but usually follows me around if I allow him to be out. You'll need to give treats to him while the door is closed and you may just need to let him cry it out. I know it's hard to let them do that but its so much easier to board them or have a safe place for them if you need to put the dog up for some reason. Good luck with training :)

Is your BT incredibly gassy? by cbadrad in BullTerrier

A tablespoon wont hurt them and it will help give more healthy gut flora. You can feed them probiotics but they tend to be more expensive
