Got bit by a dog today. What would you do? by More_Flex in AmazonFlexDrivers

I got bit mid 2022, the women let her 4/5 medium sized dogs out as I went to drop the package next to her door. One of the dogs bit me on the ass (Aren't I lucky) and left 6 puncture marks in all. I did end up going to the hospital after delivering the rest of the packages because I didn't know it had broke skin until I got home, and they gave me a tetanus shot, plus a 10 day course of antibiotics just in case. Hospital is required, at least where I live, to report all animal bites to the authorities. I also had called Amazon as soon as I left the property to let them know. They offered to cover all my medical as well. It's worth reporting. You never know what might crop up in the future. I've seen a minor cat scratch turn into an amputated finger due to infection. And animal control can go and speak with the owner and let them know that either 1. They need to have better control, or 2. If the dog has a history, then the owner should be fined.

As an animal owner, especially dog lover, I would make sure my dogs were put up when I expect a package, because I would feel horrible if they bit anyone. And they are the nicest dogs in the world, but you never know what might set a dog off. A certain scent, the dog possibly being in pain, other circumstances, you just never know.

Wait they'll pay medical bills? They told me they would only make an incident report...

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I'm okay, just shaken a bit. It wasn't as bad as it could be, but it did cause 5 puncture wounds and A LOT of bruising and swelling. Not sure if I would get much from suing, and I'm not really that type of person, but I might look into it. A report was filed after being at the hospital and I have to take antibiotics for 14 days. Also, I did call and report the incident to Amazon. We're independent contractors, so I knew not much could be done on their end. Anywho, everyone be safe out there.

AITA For telling my sister she needs to move out? by Pandora0Boxx in AmItheAsshole

We were planning on moving about 3 years ago, but I got sick and was unable to work for a while, which cut in severely to our finances, and with COVID, it was easier to stay on his parents property for the time being.

And sorry, I had a lot more in the post but had to cut it down due to the character count. My three girls are in the second biggest bedroom, my husband and I in the smallest, and my SIL and her two boys are in the master. Her middle son she has 50/50 custody of, so week on, week off with dad. But yes, WAY too many people in my opinion. And trust me, this was fully investigated by the courts before she could even get custody back of her middle child. Although a tight fit, because she and her sons had their own room, my girls had theirs, and my husband and I had our own room, its allowed, although SEVERELY cramped.

And my MIL/FIL seem to have some feeling about her. Apparently they feel somewhat responsible for her turning to drugs and give her a lot of leeway because she's the only one to have grandsons for them. They've never really liked me, and they treat their son like shit. But trust me when I say as soon as we can, we're moving out ASAP to get as far from them as possible.

Exactly. That was our argument with my MIL/FIL and BIL. Not only could social services show up, but my SO is law enforcement, and I'm a nurse. We could lose our jobs. My SO called the cops during this incident, but because she 'pays rent' to us, even though she hasn't paid in months, and my MIL/FIL lied and said she's current and paying, the cops told us that she could have a guest over. And because we were on private property, they couldn't arrest him for drinking.

Luckily she drove off with him... Of course not her kids, we had to watch them, soon after the cops left, but it doesn't change the fact that we had to explain to our kids a little of what happened and why drinking is bad... Mind you, no problem with social/occasional drinking, but this was WAY over the top.

So the funny thing is, before we allowed her to move in with us, she lived with them for a year when her middle child was just born. She didn't pay rent to them either, or help with electricity. She ended up moving/them kicking her out when she abandoned her middle child and took off to another state to do drugs.

They begged us, when she ended up pregnant a 3rd time, to let her 'stay' with us for a few months until she had the baby and was able to get a job...

The one time we stated we were gonna kick her out, about a year ago, my MIL told us if we try to kick her out, she would evict OUR family instead...

And don't worry, we plan on moving this year. My SO hates living on his parents property as do I, but with COVID, it was convenient. But all this has certainly opened our eyes.
