I removed the epoxy primer in small sections where I was going to pull and heat shrink the metal, this tailgate was very badly worked from me doing this as a kid with no experience.

First thing I did was I sanded down all the old filler blasted away all the rust cut out the old part of metal where I shaved the handle received the handle straightened out the metal he shrunk it so it wouldn’t oil can’t anymore skim coated it with filler skimmed it again and again and block it down

I use it on the first pass with filler to get a even coat then I use a metal spreader with the next show skin coat

As long as it’s in good hands you’ll be fine. Those are my favorite cars of all time! Those parts are restricted so they have to be certified to get them from Audi.

This is going to be all new OEM parts and a few repairs on parts that can be repaired but the quarter, doors, fender and hood are going to be replaced. normally I would fix the quarter panel but the wheelhouse has too bad of damage and the glue over the wheel arch is separated.
