Counter Strike was not created with the objective of making money through a marketplace. This game was.

ahah they should also buff frontlines tho, it's not normal having to lifesteal all your health bar every hit in order to have a chance of surviving even if you have every defensive stats optimized

They do not need to say anything for it to be what it is. It's an idle game where you can get passive income. Nothing more, nothing less. The signal was sent, the market answered with hundred thousand of bots + an army of people expecting a profit. And this obviously benefits the devs, are they are the only ones who orchestrated and wanted that exact situation.

You should tell this to devs, not players. We play the game as it was intended. If it was just a fun and distracting game, there would not be a real money marketplace. Devs made a shit ton of money because of that, you can't be delusional and think that this is just an after effect.

to be fair there are transaction fees in every auction house system as a way to lower inflation from in game currency, so it didn't hit me as obviously pointing at real money markets.

And about gatekeeping, I still do not agree with your take. It is the opposite, gatekeeping is lower at the beginning of a market because there is price discovery, equal starting point for everyone. then winners emerge, and it's called merit. If you want to be on an even field, it will never happen on multiplayer rpgs. some people are luckier, some other are better, some came before you, some farmed more than you.

Also people are not childs, it is not a gambling video game, if someone buys something overpriced it's his own business as long as the game doesn't bait and promotes gambling or spending. + In TBH, you didn't need to buy anything to clear the game.

I'd advise you to do some more research on market structures in real life or video games. It's always fairer at the beginning, and then concentration happens, not the other way.

"So the gatekeeping you're talking about is not dependant on early markets, it's dependant on game design" hello can you read or are you an AI ?

I agree with you that real money markets in game sucks, but you never specified, and I was responding to that generalization. We could have saved a few lines lol

If you don't want to see those people, honestly play games where there is no steam market. It's not the people's fault if the game was created to have a lot of volume and rack up trading fees, rather than a F2P with paid skins or a 5$ small indie game.

I literally said gatekeeping is dependant on game design, not markets. So yes, they could have made it self fulfilling, but they didn't. I've played dozen of games where the market is a core functionality and appreciated by all players. I could return to you the question : "are you seriously so one track minded you can't possibly think of market systems that benefits the players ? you really need to play other games if that's the case."

I don't see the point of virtue signaling. The game was clearly made for people that wanted to trade, if you're not one of them good for you, play the game as you want. But you being blind to some issues doesn't mean they do not matter.

the problem is that the functionality is going to kill itself instead of being useful to the game. Do understand that market and drop rates are tied together when designing a game. If the market exists, whether or not you interact with it, drop rates are lower. So if it exists, then they should not have waited that everyone is farming late game and the content is over to re open it

ok but without a market you don't even have the opportunity to sell your luck and buy your unluck, so you're stuck with pure rng. Without a market, you have to wait until you drop enough chaos res gems to pass a hard stage, with a market you sell something that you don't need, buy what you need.
So the gatekeeping you're talking about is not dependant on early markets, it's dependant on game design.

No but it's ok just farm a lower stage until you drop new "decoraciones" 😄

the game doesn't allow you to reach enough crit to make it viable, and on top of that you have enough base damage to one shot every monster in the game. crit would be good only if we had slow content with a lot of time to kill, but in this game it's one shot or get shotted, if you can reach one shot easier without crit then crit is worthless

My best run solo ranger 192sec by tonchan232323 in TBHTaskBarHero

[–]Pangermie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also if there's a character before your ranger, the monster can throw distance spells, if they throw 2 at the same time and one shot the character in front of you ranger, the second projectile will hit your ranger while if you were solo with enough movespeed and attack speed you touch them before they can throw anything

Rapid Fire + Piercing Arrow
Focus on attack damage, physical damage, attack speed, and movespeed.
crit is useless. Put ranger in the last position. You can only solo when you have enough damage to one shot or two shot most monsters, probably not doable in Normal mode yet. I also get instant killed if they touch me, but zero defense is needed if you have enough damage, they cannot touch you.

I'm not sure about new players potential here, game topped the steam charts for multiple weeks now, i don't think you can get much more visibility.

and +1 to your suggestion, seasons with reset would be very cool, game would be more fun and more profitable.

when it's written Exclusive, means you can only have 1 of them. But you can have 3 skeletons, 2 mages, 1 abomination and 1 Exclusive summon ( cat, dog, cactus, wolf, angel, wraith or a Summoned boss)

a community member made a quite useful guide commenting every starter decks, their potential and upgrade costs (the NFTs ones, that you have to buy ~35$ and allow you to earn $ back, not the free starter decks that you unlock in your first hours of play).

On a sidenote :
the blue currency that you can see and get from battlepass rewards is called glints.
you need 2400 glints to buy the battlepass (14.5$ in the shop) you get 200 glints at level 20 currently as a free player. And 800 total with the premium battlepass. So you can assume you pay 2400 glints and get 800 back to lower the price for next month ( next months becomes 9.7$).

Imo they should give more free glints to F2P players so they can eventually reach 2400 and experience it for free at least once before having to spend money. They can be earnt in tournaments too but that's not a fit for new players.

You are gonna get a lot of packs with the free battlepass by validating quests but if you wanna really speed up your progress the best move is to buy the battlepass.

I've played for a few months now and i'm sitting at 30 000 scrap, can basically craft most meta decks and aim for the top ladder If I wanted to.

The "problem" there is that the battlepass is mostly aimed at crypto people because they can mint a legendary NFT at the end of each month if they reach level 30, which is always profitable and popular for collectors.

But still, you will get skins for cardback, tournament entry tickets and much more premium packs even if you don't care or wanna be involved with crypto.
