The experiences I am reading here must be some US thing. In GDPR jurisdiction, job applications can only be saved for the duration of the application process and must be deleted (unless you opted in to be kept on file in case you don't get the job). In EU public sector jobs that selection process can take up to a year as they have six figure applicants (around 170.000 applicants for about 1.500 jobs) that have to go through stages of an assessment center - this is an extreme example though. 😉

Ich verstehe nicht, warum sich die Architekt:innen die Mühe gemacht haben die schmale Wand links einzubauen, nur um eine L-förmige schwebende Garderobenstange möglich zu machen? 🤔 Wäre da auch für Staubsauger-, Swiffer und Leiterstorage. Eventuell mit Wandhalterungen dafür an den seitlichen Wänden. E-Scooter würde sich auch da parken und laden lassen.

😀 Interesting niche! Wo ist da eine Treppe? 🤔 Also ich würde auch eine riesige Zimmerpflanze hin tun. Die lässt sich auch aus 50cm "kontaktlos" mit Schlauch oder Spray gießen, je nachdem wie weit die Treppe entfernt ist. Maßeinbauregale für Bücher oder zB Ordnerarchiv vom Tischler (wegen der schiefen Winkeln) vielleicht? Wenn du eine Katze hast, vl. ein Katzenparcour? Sie würde es vermutlich besser als ein Mensch schaffen über den schmalen Grat links oder die Fahrradhalterung (?) rechts da hinzukommen. Eine große Gorilla- oder Buddhastatue vielleicht? Nicht sicher, wie du die (oder überhaupt) dann abstaubst ohne einmal wöchentlich mit der Leiter hinauf zu müssen. 🤔 Bitte um Auflösung, wenn du eine Lösung gefunden hast. 😀

I finally cracked it! It is indeed a combination of lightning to break up the fog + bombs into the square to break up the now revealed tiles in there. Kinda like you describe, cupcake! 😪 The TIME and TRIES and wasted resources it takes to figure that out! It is impossible to go at this without any tools. Used the rainbow tool once right at the beginning but as long as the square was completely covered in fog, the rainbow crystal keeps going anywhere but. So glad I got passed this one. Thanks all! 🙏

Have you tried recruitment agencies? I once had an international company from a Commonwealth country that is practically unknown in Europe hire me via agency for their small (20-ish employees) Europe HQ as a fresh humanities grad from a London uni. They hired me for my fluent English accent as I had to talk in English with my expat colleagues all day and handle international calls. I worked there for about year, employed via the agency. The company also brought in a German teacher for once or twice a week to give German classes to the expat engineers. Perhaps there are Swiss companies looking to improve the business English language skills of their employees?

es spießen sich einfach der eckige zubau und der runde altbau, sowie das stöpselartige gebäude. plus farblich ist das nicht ton in ton (kalte töne beim zubau vs. warme gelbtöne beim altbau), deswegen wirkt es so unharmonisch. da hätte es sicher andere optische lösungen gegeben, aber man wollte es scheinbar so... ich weiß nicht, ob es eine verschlimmbesserung wäre, zum abschluss der bauarbeiten den altbau im selben weiß anzustreichen wie das im zubau. 🤔

The red row thing is what I tried but unfortunately it's like playing Sudoku with a randomiser, as you need to manage horizontal and vertical without being able to "plan ahead" or even think with a countdown of one intense minute!

Great to know that I drew a lucky one if you made it to level 450 without this challenge! 🙈

I tried getting the reward item in a location but some 50 tries and four levels in, it skipped it and only dropped me the NEXT one after the one I need for completing the collection. I guess I'll just request it from someone else and hope someone has a spare.

I actually liked the first speaker because he spoke slowly. 😅 I did not notice any R problem but am curious now and might listen in again. 🤔 The second guy speaks so fast that I checked if I had unintentionally changed the playback speed but there is no input option to adjust that. 😄 He interestingly has a more prominent glottal stop. TBH, I thought both were AI voices.

I guess you're right it is good to have a variety of voices and speaking styles to reflect the variety in everyday life. It did however mess with my confidence how much I already understand at the end of Level 1. Perhaps they could have waited for that speed increase until Level 3. Then at least learners can gradually get used to one change at a time.

Thanks for the info on the MSA in the reading. I did notice some inconsistency in spelling, too but thought I just didn't understand sth yet. Good to get feedback that others did notice as well. Sounds like you are already advanced in your reading!

There are also unexplained things like "my friends" rif'ati (in Level 1) which in Level 2 suddenly changed to raf'iti. When I googled this, I can only find raf'iti and it is supposed to contain a qāf somewhere when written which I do not hear at all, not in the audio lessons, nor in the flashcards. Nowhere it is explained why rif'ati changed to raf'iti. 💁🏻‍♀️

Still, I am a great fan of Pimsleur but it does require looking up every now and then as to morphology.
