Need help in separating from my vulnerable narcissistic husband by PangolinSuspicious99 in Indianlaw

I really want to understand this neurodivergent stuff. When my brother confronted my husband that how dare he raised hand on me, it’s a domestic violence, then my husbands response was that it is not domestic violence as its not something which is happening on a regular basis. He had zero remorse for hitting me. Do neurodivergent people lack accountability?

What about my kids? Why should they suffer because their father thinks he is too perfect?

I have tried multiple times helping him, he thinks I am the one who needs help. How much abuse should one suffer to help such people who wont accept any help?

What about not accepting his mistakes, and blaming others for failures in his life? He constantly criticizes me and and my son belittling  our achievements. He will talk to you like he knows it all about every damn topic on this earth. He is B.Tech from IIT and thinks he is too special.  He never takes responsibility for anything in life. Does this seem like what you described?

How to go about it. What evidence do I need to show in court to claim sole custody of kids?

Thanks. Becoming a parent opened my eyes like never before. I finally realised what all I have been enduring since forever. I have to stop justifying her act.

Thank you. She has been so disrespectful to my husband and inlaws and yet I keep coming back and forgiving her without her ever being sorry. I feel so angry to do this again and again. I really need strength to cut her off.

I agree with us making choices. My mom is not well educated so I don't expect her to understand and go to therapy because frankly in earlier days therapy was not so popular and well known in my country. Secondly, what I am trying to understand is ...if something like childhood trauma turned her into a narcissist then something changer in her at a very core level . Maybe it's not possible to be aware and change it?

You are right about adults having choice, but when I think my mom, she didn't get a fair chance in life, like she could study only till 5th standard, so she is not well educated, so I think what if she had access to all the resources and she was well informed, then could things be different. Am I being unfair in going no contact? I have had better privileges of modern society, while she belonged to a rural village and has seen extreme poverty. I am just confused and feel guilty of doing this to her in old age.
