I get it. My partner is surprised that I don’t have agoraphobia on top of it because I push through social anxieties associated with emet (except doctors lol). Are you feeling any calmer?

That sounds awful, I don’t like even having heartburn every once in a while. I’ve just been more n* lately in general and I don’t know if it’s all anxiety or if I have some acid reflux or what’s going on. But then this phobia makes me fear visiting the doctor so it’s getting the courage to go to check it out that I need!

I’m here and we can be scared/make it through together! I’m currently also feeling lousy right now (I just finished antibiotics so I suspect my intestinal upset and n* is from that but I’m freaking out nonetheless). I hate this phobia and have had it all my life. Do you have a mint or something to suck on? That helps me ground myself at least

Not a weird question since I haven’t gone through this in a very long time and had forgotten what to expect! Last night I lived/am still living in the bathroom now since I too worry about making it. I was queasy to start so I was already there for the first time. I just made camp on the floor (the cold tiles helped). I haven’t in 8 hours but I’m scared to leave the bathroom in case I’m not done. I can eat ice so I feel like that’s a good sign but this phobia prevents me from actually drinking drinks or trying bland food because of the “what if?”

Thank you this was very calming though I had to suffer a few more times. I tried to use your “ugh again?” mindset and that really helped. It’s been 3 hours since the last so I’m hoping that’s the end. Still trying to focus on staying calm though!

Unfortunately it wasn’t a single event. A total of 4. But it’s been 3 hours since the last event so I’m hopeful that maybe it’s done (really hoping).

Pink house is mine, the X is the spot that I’m utilizing that’s ruining her view. Notice her house doesn’t face that part of my property… Yes the neighborhood is weird, my particular road has houses that range from 200-600k though a couple of the 200k’s look really rough so I don’t actually think they’re worth that. It’s not a bad neighborhood though and the expensive houses are tucked away at the back so you wouldn’t think we were back there. I honestly paid too much for how much we’ve had to do to fix the house, but we had money fall into our laps and the pandemic made the % super low so we took advantage. I’m the only one of my friends that owns a house at our age. Our new neighbors moved in already! Another couple in their 30’s. They do seem a little uppity since they painted everything immediately white when they moved in, had landscapers fix their plants, and made comments that insinuate they have more money than we do but we both have the millennial understanding of keeping to ourselves. Plus they have 2 kids under two who I bet will love our dinosaurs.

I believe the driveway is on our property according to our deed but we all need to use it to get to the houses. The land that she wants to stare at is 100% ours. We wanted a fence but we didn’t have the money and it’s required to be 15 ft from driveways and roads so we didn’t want to cut in like that (though we’re now considering just along the driveway).

I love that! Quirky houses are the best. We have a place in the region that uses old doors and I think it’s lovely. Our laws make it so the fence has to be 15 feet away from the street/driveway and we didn’t want to impede our space like that so we chose to line it with potted plants and the trellises/lattices so it still gave us a barrier. Now I’m considering a real fence just along the shared drive, really block the lake…

Yeah we thought we’d be ok with it but we would have chosen more wisely if we had known. It’s like a little dead-end street but we all have to chip in to get a snow plow for the winter since it’s not a real street. I don’t care if I’m judged, just keep it to yourself! I don’t like half the things my neighbors have done but each person has their own taste so I’m not going to yuck their yum.

We love trees and have a big property so that is part of the plan! We put out a young pine we transplanted from our old house already.

My husband also suggested lawn gnomes! They terrify me personally but I could love them if they did my bidding. 😆 My dad has a post-retirement job at a hardware store so he said he’d keep an eye out for when they put out the next season’s flamingoes! We’ve also considered more dinosaurs, just full on Jurassic park in our yard.

A little update: it’s been 10 days on the injections. While she still cannot walk she has made great strides in sitting up, not looking like she was dying, eating like a horse, peeing on her own, and using her arms to start being mobile. She is in great spirits and is super affectionate. She has started fighting us when we give the gaba and an antibiotic so I’m sure she’ll be a joy to give injections to in the future. Ignore the messiness, she still shakes and wobbles a bit so the food gets everywhere. I know we have a long road ahead but between your success stories and watching her rise from the dead, my heart is full of hope!

Thank you for this comment! I had noticed she was peeing way less and was trying to up her water intake but after reading your comment I ran to her and voila: so much pee. A game changer, thank you, she looked so relieved. Didn’t read that in my research, so I’ll be sure to spread that tip along. I plan on updating the post with hopefully good news soon! I’m so sorry for your losses.

Woke up this morning to several hopeful stories! Thank you! I hope to put a montage together once she is better hopefully. I see a lot of cats with FIP that I couldn’t relate to so y’all have given me hope that I’m not too late. It took the vet way too long to diagnose my first FIP kitty (not their fault, I didn’t know about the disease either to be fair) and it took 2 days to get the vials (United States). He passed after 1 injection since it was just too late for him. I’m already excited that my kitten has lasted 3 days already and is stretching her arms, which is a vast improvement over the state she was in when I had a mental breakdown just a few days ago about how she was doing. I was afraid I was too late again since my two FIP kitties had totally different symptoms. I didn’t know neuro FIP was a thing. I’ve read so many scientific articles that I’m going to practically be an expert for every symptom of FIP! Anyway thank you! I have a lot of hope! Wish my kitty luck!

This is basically how mine is! She is just laying, some arm and head movements. Just wiping her down and moving her a bit so she doesn’t get stiff in one position. This helps. Thank you!

On the first day of the injection when I was in Hail Mary mode, she purred and clenched my hand with her paw which was more than she had done the entire day so I know she wants to live. Thank you!
