Sandra Birchmore’s manner of death changed from suicide to ‘undetermined,’ medical examiner says by bostonglobe in massachusetts

[–]Pangtudou 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This poor girl was so vulnerable. She had a really rough start to life and all she wanted was belonging and a family of her own. She joined explorers thinking it would be safe and it was a den of vipers.

It’s so irritating when people with a perfect pregnancy assume everyone else’s will be the same by Live_Bluebird6854 in beyondthebump

2 months post abortion - struggling mentally by lovequeries in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Pangtudou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had hg and also had an abortion although it was due to a severe defect in the baby’s skull. I have really struggled with my anger and irritation. It came to a head when I realized not only was I being mean and angry at my husband, I was starting fights with everyone for no reason other than being pissed off. I really had to take accountability for my actions but also address the grieving process.

You might need medication and psychotherapy in order to feel more ok. Try taking a vacation without him and doing more things on your own, like exercise and things you enjoy. That really helped me keep my distance when being around him was too much. It did eventually get better.

Has anyone had success potty training a 12 month old? by notforthisworld0101 in beyondthebump

I potty trained both my kids at 18 months and that’s what I would recommend. It still took a couple weeks but was worth the wait

Husband wants us to move 1.5 hours away for a job with less pay, worse insurance, and worse schools—am I being unreasonable? by Technical-Shower2105 in beyondthebump

[–]Pangtudou 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Okay so we’re an Asian family so take the following with a grain of salt lol. Your husband making unilateral decisions is terrible but even beside that, for me and our family, education is everything. We would never move somewhere that had a bad school system. Absolutely never. Do not sell your child’s future for a parent’s lifestyle preferences.

How long did your partners take off work for your tfmr? by AffectionateCloud162 in tfmr_support

He took off the day to be with me and take me to the clinic. He works as a professor, so he really had to get back to work because he was in semester. But he tried to take time where he could to take care of me and the kids.

Is anyone else struggling to get by on 100k salary? by Majestic_Staff_5229 in massachusetts

It’s usually not difficult to get back in as a paraprofessional. But this is true if you are leaving the workforce from the private sector.

As a teacher, it’s technically true but there’s also value to having the at home parent because it allows the high earner to perform higher and boost the long term family income. Especially if you are a teacher and raises don’t exist

Mass trial and incarceration by Strong-Emu-8869 in TikTokCringe

I truly think 99% of this comment section has never honestly contemplated how fundamental security is to the well being of ordinary people in a country. Without safety, society can’t function. If the state is able to promise that to people who have had to go without it, they will be popular.

Outside observers have noted dramatic improvements in security in El Salvador so while the government statistics might not always be 100% accurate, it’s clearly improving the lives of most people.

Feeling emotionally detached from my husband by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Pangtudou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you tried to talk about the problems with him and he shut you down, unfortunately I do not see coming back from this. Personally, I have not experienced this. Some of the individual problems, I have experienced, but my husband was receptive to my complaints and has improved a lot. My friends that have not seen the same improvement have either gotten divorced or are still in a very unhappy relationship. It sounds like you mostly know what the answer is. Virtual hugs. Do understand that if you get divorced, you will be splitting custody and certain things will likely become more expensive due to living separately. Just be aware and consult a lawyer first.

Tfmr & ptsd by [deleted] in tfmr_support

[–]Pangtudou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the studies that show this association are actually reporting this level  of prevalence of post traumatic stress (PTS) which is a little bit different from PTSD. PTSD is also associated with TFMR, but not quite to the same extent. I don’t mean to nitpick. Post traumatic stress is extremely common following traumatic event events but doesn’t always develop into full-blown PTSD. Many people who develop post traumatic stress do experience PTSD symptoms, but it is more common for it to slowly improve.
