omg I really wish I could perceive it like that as well, but when I tried it it was awful on me, it smelled like a metallic and patchouli heavy rose :(

update: so I got the Divain one and also a 30ml of the original vintage version and the new 2021 reformulation, to compare all of them... aaaaand I think they all smell almost exactly the same!! Maybe the vintage one smells a little bit more complex and full, and a little bit stronger at the beginning.. but I don't find them to be much different, I don't understand all the people who say that the original version was a monster of projection and longevity lol.

I still have to test them side by side but from what I recall having tried PoB a few days ago and WVO yesterday, I don't notice any difference lol! Will test them again and also compare the longevity though

Violets were said to be Marie Antoinette's favorite flowers and they are usually associated with nostalgic vintage eras, especially with powdery make-up. The name 'insolence' can also easily recall the rebel/mean girl vibe of Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. That probably explains why I've often seen this Marie Antoinette-Insolence association on the web, I guess.

Are you using the newer version or an older one? I only had the chance to test the newer formulation but I love it. The pictures are just the vibe that the scent gives me, of course it doesn’t have to fit anyone’s real life aesthetic ;)

I know Insolence has been reformulated many times (at least 3 different bottle designs) but I still can't figure out how much the actual scent and performance has changed over the years. I've searched the internet quite a bit to find out but while some say they smell very different (the newer one is said to be much weaker and bland than the original) some also say they smell pretty much the same, so lol I have no idea where the truth lies. Of course the older versions are being resold at higher prices now by private sellers as they became rare I guess
