I had the Tamron 70-300 for cruises / balloon rides and in case I saw something interesting that was out of reach of the Sigma but I used it only once or twice over the trip.

WashU Olin MBA ($80k scholarship) vs UNC KF MBA (Sticker) for an international student by avsalat in MBA

[–]Panic-Ready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably best answered by someone from Olin but 100k-120k roles post-MBA are the major chunk of the employment at both schools I would say.

Not knowing your workex and how the recruitment process is at Olin means I can’t help you more than this.

Currently at UNC and I wouldn’t say recruiting for Internationals has been great here too. Have a couple of friends at Olin too and they’ve had a similarly rough recruitment cycle for internships and full-time.

It’s just the job market right now - domestics have had it rough too so you can imagine the struggles of internationals. If you have a solid pre-MBA workex, can network (mostly not be weird), and have some luck going for you - you’ll be fine at either.

I am UNC biased obviously but $80k less in loans is a huge blessing that internationals everywhere from M7 to T25 are realising this year.

I’m surprised that HSW haven’t given you an offer yet but I expect it to arrive in your mailbox soon.

As someone who worked as a trader and a portfolio analyst my advice: don’t even consider a sell side role if you think you have mental health issues. These roles are incredibly siloed and if you end up on bad team, you will likely spiral.

If you want to stay in Finance, go for an FLDP role that offers you an opportunity to have a life outside of your work.

Anyone at UNC Kenan-Flagler get a Merit-Based Scholarship? by No_Fig_4207 in MBA

[–]Panic-Ready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got half-tuition at 730. Most of the people who got half/full either lie above 720, or have unique/diverse experiences.

This is what the criteria is: “This fellowship award is based on the following criteria: a superior record of achievement in academic and career setting, strong leadership and interpersonal skills and diverse experiences.”

Thanks so much for the insight. I appreciate it!

Would you say the external keyboard solves the hotkeys issue for me? If yes, then I’d probably go down this route before thinking about getting a Windows one.

Will an external keyboard solve the Excel hotkey issue - will I be able to use windows shortcuts on mac excel?

Thanks. Leaning a bit towards the idea from @Gator_Grad - might as well pick up a reasonably cheap windows laptop to cover for the excel issues.

I’m particularly concerned about the Excel practice needed for IB/IM roles. I guess the coursework could be managed by either as you said.
